  1. I am rooting for you all - I hope you get the same satisfaction feeling fantastic post-op with very tiny meals as you do with the big ones. I don't feel like I'm deprived at all and the weight is just flying off me (almost too fast). Very excited for you all
  2. I'm going to have to "Unfollow" this thread - y'all are scaring me! LOL Progress, not perfection - but please don't hurt yourselves!
  3. I go out to eat probably 10+ times a week. The only problem is that I get bored because I am enjoying a lot of restriction still. So I finish my food and the rest of my party still has a few more courses to go! NurseG, I totally get it - but let me tell you, the way I feel and the way that I look, there is no way I'm going to be depressed! I'll take my indifference/boredom with food instead of the guilt, shame and overall crappy feeling any day. Soon, you're going to catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and not recognize yourself. When that happens, you better let us all know!
  4. Ignore them, become super successful and snag the hottest doctor in the place!!!
  5. I haven't had any food cheating - but I am super non-compliant in regards to going to the gym!!! Can't seem to get my butt there :-(
  6. I was the person that would have 4-5 refills of diet coke while eating out. I've had no problem retraining myself (so far) - you quickly learn every ounce is precious space in your new stomach (and you are eating so little) you won't want a drink while eating. We stay so hydrated, that eating and swallowing is no problem.
  7. No catheter, no pain, uneventful recovery, great results so far! The only downside was my belly being shaved, but it's all grown back now. Life is good!
  8. Polyamorous relationships are the new black
  9. I'm 2 months+ out and I can eat 1/4-1/2 of a side salad. I don't do it very often because it takes up a lot of space that I need for protein. Mostly romaine lettuce, no problems digesting it.
  10. Wow! Your NUT is opposed to Premier Protein, but caffeinated flavored coffee is okay? You're totally right in pointing out how different each doc/program is - that is wild!
  11. Can you do IsoPure, Sleeping B?
  12. I did a YouTube video about how something similar happened to me - I think I titled it "Read the Labels" - I felt so silly!
  13. In response to your question. Yes, you messed up. Should you beat yourself up? No. Just please please please follow your surgeon's advice and don't rush this process. They know what they are doing and are giving you the tools to recover safely and be successful.
  14. VSG was my first surgical experience as well. I was nervous, but what helped is that I was the 1st surgery of the day, so the pre-op process was such a blur. The staff always kept me informed throughout the process and before I knew it I jumped on the O.R. table and was out in less than 10 seconds. The next thing I remember is them telling me that I was a done. I was so happy, I couldn't stop smiling. I had to peek inside my gown just to make sure they did something because I didn't feel any different.
  15. I ate about 2 oz of beef around 9:30pm and then ate 2 oz of chicken an hour later - yep, within seconds I knew we had a problem - the chicken came right up. I guess I don't have to count it on myfitnesspal now...
  16. Not fun - wow, just goes to show that after 9 weeks, I've still got a lot to learn! I didn't wait long enough between meals (was flying all day today and didn't get much protein), so I was trying to make up for it tonight. Lesson learned!
  17. Are you wearing a pain pump thing? Someone else reported the same symptom.
  18. I told everyone that would listen because I was only taking 5 days off and I wanted them to know why I might not be "myself" when I got back. I'm lucky though, everyone is 1000% supportive. I know, it's an exception, but it's why I chose my employer. I hope you work something out with them OP.

  20. Congrats Pammie and Jeff!!
  21. KatiKati - you are very cute (love the dimples!), you just have to understand Laura is a man-stealer...she can't help it...cross addiction...you know, ooh, touchy subject...awkward!
