Geminidrive got a reaction from ladyluna22 in When I drop my weight, I'm going to try (insert answer)!
Pole dancing. I've always wanted to take the classes but knew I was too big for the pole. I heard it is a phenomenal exercise, it may look easy but it isn't.

Geminidrive got a reaction from shelly77 in I'm not telling.
Anyone who wants to know, I even put it on Facebook (J/k).
Serously, I don't have any problems with anyone knowing I have had surgery, if I can help someone else I'm all for it. I don't worry about what others say or think about me.

Geminidrive got a reaction from yvette626 in No pre-op diet required?
I wasn't required to do the Pre-op diet either. My surgeon said it is not necessary. I only had to do the Pre op laxative prep the day prior to surgery. Let me also mention, post op no pain, no gas and I have lost 68lbs since surgery 10/8. I also have not had any problems adjusting in any stage.

Same way you dealt with it before. For me if married and in a relationship it is hands off. Besides I am and continue to be the same person so if you are now just going to pay attention to me because I lost some weight, then forget you...you should have gotten to know me before.

In the past I would bake during snow storms. Now that I am post-op WLS I satisfied my need to cook by making a big stir fry, made some greens and then a pan of sautéed zucchini & summer squash. I put the music on and sipped my Water and then my herbal tea while I did this. The end result - I have a bunch of healthy foods for the week. 27" inches here in MA so far and still snowing. No driving ban, but people are walking everywhere. I like to look at it as an adventure. We'll be back to our usual routines soon enough. It's going to go into the 40's on Monday and be above freezing all week. Having lived in NE all of my life, maybe I am just used to it. Stay warm and stay safe.

Geminidrive got a reaction from sassime85 in im such a chicken
i've also seen people with bariatric surgery go through surgery, loose a bunch of weight and gain it back.
The key is discipline, I'm still in the early stages, but I hope to continue eating healthy.
    what have been your experiences?
how do you deal with the loose skin? Not at that level yet, but when that happens, I'll go to a good Plastic surgeon.
do you start preparing your skin ahead of time or adopting a workout routine? I didn't. But have adopted a workout regimen after surgery and will soon start back with my personal trainer.
how do people treat you afterwards? The same. I have amazing family, friends and co-workers, so I didn't expect anything else except love and support. I'm a very direct person and I have and never will allow anyone to treat me badly or talk disrespectfully to me.
how long before you can go back to eating right? You start out eating right, or making the right choices immediatley. It is important to create a healthy environment.
how grueiling is only being able to sip liquids? It was hard in the beginning then it becomes second nature.
im just scared but i know i want this procedure. Don't be scared....it's not that hard.

You should be fine eating pork, but reintroducing any food after the surgery is trial and error. Sometimes it takes a while for your stomach to adjust.

I am only 3 weeks post op but I have no regrets! I did tell people who asked what surgery I was having since my co workers knew I was going to be off for 3 weeks. I chose to tell people because I have no issues with people knowing. I was surprise at how supportive my co workers are:)

I didn't keep my surgery a secret. I must say that I am surrounded by amazing people both professionally and personally and have received nothing but support. The choice is totally up to you. Good Luck!

I didn't hold back. My manager had the same surgery in 2011. She was very open when I asked questions. She helped guide me through the process. I appreciate her honesty and feel I should be open about my surgery in case some one else has questions that need to be answered.

I respect everyone's right to tell or not tell. It is my opinion that anything I keep secret holds power over me and the risk of exposure is so much worse than just telling the truth. I don't put it on Facebook but I tell anyone who asks how I lost the weight . I also share it with people who wait on me or need to know. I told all my family and friends. I figure I might help someone else who needs to ask questions. As far as in laws go I had terrible in laws for 18 years. They put me down all the time but I never backed down. I'd say my peace and hold my ground. I will not tolerate anyone treating me badly and if they do I ask them why and confront them usually they don't realise it or are uncomfortable and stop it . If it continues don't see them and don't let your kids. Demand respect. Demand your husband to support you. Life is too short to feel bad. Life is too short to not be respected and loved. No one is better than anyone else it is the choices we make that determine the quality of life we lead. For gods sake it is a medical procedure to help aid us to lose weight not a fix and we still have to work on it everyday. to me this is part of my plan to be healthier that's all. F those people who can't see your worth they are insecure themselves and petty and are to be pitied. Eventually you can laugh to yourself about how immature people are knowing their opinion doesn't effect you you are excellent at any weight in every way.
