Had any Pepto-Bismol lately? Have you Googled it?

Here is something about it.

Could be bacteria or overgrowth of yeast, look

Up "black hairy tongue"

Cause?

Dehydration

Medications, antibiotics, etc

I got a white tongue (thrush) from the antibiotics. I got a rx and it went away.

I had geographic tongue. Lasted about a week. Found out it was from the b-12

Looks like a type of thrush - get in to see your primary care provider - they can treat that. It happened to my hubby right after his sleeve surgery, it did not happen to me after my sleeve surgery though. Good luck and keep us posted!

Once again....google "black tongue" or

"black hairy tongue"

:)

Yeast

One of the side effects of my medication is 'hairy tongue'. Yikes!

I did call my doctor, but they were puzzled. They called me in Diflucan. I was just curious if it happened to anyone else.

OMG WEIRD stop sucking black pens : ) hope it clears up

Usually caused from a decrease in beneficial oral bacteria. Again look up black hairy tongue as previously mentioned. Eat yogurt and perhaps acidophilus to help restore the normal oral flora.

I had an issue with a black tongue when I was taking my centrum chewable vitamins. When I changed from that it went away. Hope that helps some
