February 7, 201313 yr My sleeve was done on Jan 22nd & around 2 weeks post op I go a black tongue. I have not used pepto or anything that would stain my tongue. Has anyone else experienced this?
February 7, 201313 yr Could be bacteria or overgrowth of yeast, look Up "black hairy tongue" Cause? Dehydration Medications, antibiotics, etc
February 7, 201313 yr I got a white tongue (thrush) from the antibiotics. I got a rx and it went away.

February 7, 201313 yr Looks like a type of thrush - get in to see your primary care provider - they can treat that. It happened to my hubby right after his sleeve surgery, it did not happen to me after my sleeve surgery though. Good luck and keep us posted!

February 7, 201313 yr Usually caused from a decrease in beneficial oral bacteria. Again look up black hairy tongue as previously mentioned. Eat yogurt and perhaps acidophilus to help restore the normal oral flora.
February 7, 201313 yr I had geographic tongue. Lasted about a week. Found out it was from the b-12 Really,ive had a geograpical tongue all of my adult life,not related to Vitamins,at least my dentist never mentioned it
February 7, 201313 yr I had an issue with a black tongue when I was taking my centrum chewable vitamins. When I changed from that it went away. Hope that helps some
