  1. Geez...I'm wondering if I should do a pre op diet anyways to just make sure there r no issues with my liver. Ugh
  2. I think it all depends on the surgeon. My bmi is 41 and i didnt have to do one and a friend of mine who used the same surgeon was bmi of about 50 and she didn't have to do one.
  3. I was told by my NUT that it can push the food you have eaten down so it allows you to eat more bc you don't feel the fullness like you would just by eating. But I have heard a few different reasons.
  4. Yay! Hopefully urs approval process doesn't take long! Mine was approved in just a few days!
  5. That is very reassuring! I was afraid that not doing one will cause set backs after surgery but hearing the both of you say u are fine after surgery is awesome. And I can't wait to be lighter 70lbs!
  6. Ok so now that I have my surgery date I'm getting super excited but the one thing I was told is no preop diet that I have to do. I am wondering if I should do one anyways to prepare for what's to come after surgery? Does anyone know someone who did not have to do one and did not ..I guess succeed...after surgery? I think that is my fear..failure.
  7. Wow! That is fast! Hopefully I get info on my survey date on Thursday:)
  8. I received my paperwork and it said like 2 hours for test and about 1 1/2 hour with the doctor. I dont like test anyways because I think way to much into things so if there was a question " would you like to be a race car driver" I would sit there and think long and hard about it..."It might be fun! i mean I could do it and I would be awesome so yes? I would like to be a race car driver??" lol I agree though..i dont understand why its required only becuase obesity hits every type of person a little nuts or not.
  9. I just looked that up and I did not realize it happens a lot! I guess we all learn something new everyday
  10. Lol the alcoholic thing made me laugh bc it's absurd! Lol. She does sound likemshenwas a little crazy herself.
  11. Ok so I have my psych evaluation in a week and I am filling out my pre appointment paperwork and now I am a little worried. I have a bipolar mom and I have been diagnosed as OCD in the past and I am now worried that this may keep me from passing the evaluation. I am a depressed person but mostly bc of my weight and I am not on medication for it so I don't think that will be a concern but bc my mother is clinically diagnosed and takes medication for bipolar and it can be hereditary. I know I should be honest but I almost feel like I want to keep that info out of the psych evaluation. Has anyone else been in this same situation and experienced a good outcome?
  12. Tracey I hope it's not bc not that I have made the decision I'm like you I don't wanna wait anymore! I don't know what I would do if it ended up being 9 months
  13. I am so glad that I found this site now that I have finally decided on the sleeve. I have been thinking about WLS for a few years and in the past 3 months have seriously considered the Sleeve. SOOO I started my journey with my PCP letting him know this is what I have decided to do. Now I have the nutrition class on 08/21 then meet the surgeon on 08/23 then psych evaluation on 08/27. I was told during my initial conversation with the coordinator at the surgeon's office that once I get my psych evaluation done then we will set a date. This seems to be going REALLY fast. I have read where it takes most people at least 2 months for the process and other much longer. It almost seems too good to be true because I am given the impression I will have surgery within a month MAYBE month and half from initial call from surgeon's office. How long did the whole process take from beginning to end?
