  1. About the feeling like a newby, I can totally relate...I am 2 1/2yrs out and sometimes feel like I haven't learned a damned thing when it comes to eatting with the band. I did want to say that when I have the problem you're describing, it's usually because I took too big a bite, didn't chew it enough and took the next bite too soon. Some habits are hard to break. Good luck to all of us! Joanie :smile2:)
  2. Well, I'm not exactly off to a good start here....I didn't do anything yesterday and so far I haven't gotten the energy up for the gym today. Gotta go, go, go...ya know! I know once I get there I will be fine...I just need to do it! I'll let ya'll know how I made out! Thanx for listening to me whine! LOL!!!!
  3. I'm almost done with Eclipse! The third book of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. I love these books.
  4. Ok, I'm in....I really lucked out with all the crap I ate over the Thanksgiving weekend I didn't gain anything, but I am determined to get back to the gym. Maybe being accountable to ya'll I will get my ass there. I will keep ya posted on my progress. Wish me luck! Joanie )
  5. WhooHooo and welcome! I know exactly how you feel...I've been banded for 2 1/2yrs, and have love the way I feel now. My biggest complaint is....I wish I had done it years ago!!! haha!!! good luck, Joanie )
  6. Sorry to hear about your ins. problem. Mine didn't cover it either, but I was lucky enough to be able to afford cash pay...kinda, credit cards you know!!! Have you looked into the care credit? It can be used for anything medical. I'm using it for my tummy tuck in January...WhooHooo!!! Good luck, hope you can get the band!
  7. Are you sure the text was truly from him? You said you have not talked to him since you got it...could someone have gotten hold of his phone and sent it, not him? Just food for thought. On a happier note, the band is wonderful, enjoy your weightloss.
  8. I had my first colonoscopy a few months ago with no problems what so ever....except all the shitting. Good luck Tina...really it's not that bad...I had been putting it off for the last few years, and it was nothing! Joanie )
  9. I had never heard of thedailyplate.com . I am going to that site now and see what it's all about. I'm pretty sure that I'm eating more than I should be, even though i try to keep track of everything. Thanx!!! Joanie )
  10. Well, I lost 2 lbs this week, which got me to my lowest weight since my banding.....Whoop!!!!
  11. I've lost 2 lbs. this week, not a big leap, but I'll take it. It's gotten me down to my lowest weight since having my banding. WhooHoo!!!! Joanie )
  12. I've done very well at getting to the gym but I am still having a mid-afternoon snack. Usually a string cheese or yogurt, but still....doc wants me to lay off all snacks. Well, todays another day, right? Best of luck to all of you!
  13. I am staying on plan today and everyday until I have lost this last stubborn 15 lbs so I can then just concentrate on maintaining my goal weight. I am on the right path and will stay there for as long as it takes.
  14. I have been basically sweets free for over a week now, and I don't crave it now...I'm one of those that can't have just a little (that's where my band comes in, right? haha) so as long as I stay away all together I'm much better off.
  15. Well, I am finally starting to lose again...Whoop!!!! just over a lb in 5 days, but I'll take it!!! 15lbs to go!!! I will do this!!!!
  16. I have been there, and I can sympathize with you. Start writing down everything you put in your mouth...sometimes we are eating more than we think. Also, are you eating slow enough and taking small enough bites? Keep up the walking, maybe pick up the pace some and the amount you are walking. Just keep at it, you will get there! Good luck, Joanie ) :tt2:
  17. Been there...chicken strips....my friend was in a panic cause she could find me a gas station or anyplace for me to ...well you know!!!
  18. Hello to all you upstaters....Although I never lived there my whole family is from upstate, NY. My parents met in school in Franklinville, but their brothers and sisters have spread out up there now, but all still in the vacinity.
  19. I like the me I'm becoming and I want her to stick around for years to come.
  20. Super advise that I, for one, tend to forget. I didn't know about the stress and anger thing...very informative...thanx!!! Joanie )
  21. I love cheese, almost every kind, but I do try to get the low fat kind. I know the confusion...who do we listen to, right? At this point, I listen mostly to my surgeon. I figure if I have too much trouble dropping lbs, maybe I'll cut the cheese...so to speak! HaHa! good luck! Joanie )
  22. My shoulder pain comes when I am at my best eating what I should and only 3 meals. I get very tired of it, too. It is the only bad thing I have experienced since being banded. Nothing seems to work except eating something...I suspect it is gas in my stomach from being empty.
  23. To Slim-n-tn: I love that story, I had read it a while back, but it never fails to choke me up and realize there are angels watching us! Thanx for the boost!
  24. :cursing: I'm trying to think of something from my heart that hasn't been copied from something I've heard from someone else....so here goes: I have been blessed with a wonderfully supportive husband who wants only for me to be happy. He literally saved my life when I started dating him nearly 8 yrs ago. He is the reason I am happy today!
