  1. New Jersey huh? That seems a bit odd, but hey, I'll try anything....Thanx for the reply and good luck!
  2. :help:Hi all, I'm not new to the band, but I am just now going to start going to my Drs. support groups, problem is...I live nearly 3hrs. from his office. I'm really not looking forward to the drive, but I guess I can handle it once a month. I had heard that there was a support group in Victoria,Texas, but can't find it. Anyone out there know of a support group meeting in Victoria, Texas?
  3. I appreciate all ya'lls opinions, I wish it wasn't friday afternoon, since my dr. is already out of the office, I may just wait till monday and call the office. I picked up the pill just a bit ago and although it is a capsule shaped pill, it may be a bit large for the band. I think I'll just play it safe and talk to them first. thanx, Joanie
  4. Thanx for the reply. I've been lucky since I haven't had a problem with the heartburn or reflux, but apparently my gyn. is concerned about my lapband and me taking this Boniva. I guess I'll find out as soon as start taking it, right?
  5. Hi everyone and anyone....my gyn wants me to start taking boniva since my bone density test didn't look too good, and the side effects include heartburn and reflux. Will I have any problems with my lapband, does anyone else have any problems along this line. thanx, Joanie
  6. Hi, I had my lapband done last year. I had my gallbladder out about 10yrs. earier and can say you have no worries with that. I also get kidney stones. Have had them off and on for years, in fact I had to have surgery last year to have one removed. That was about 1 month before I had my lapband done. I just recently had another stone stuck, but thank God it passed right before my surgery date. Whew! The kidney stones will not effect your band at all. good-luck
  7. Most defineately, on your question as to whether I would do it again...In a heartbeat. I wish I didn't have to take such drastic measures to assure I would lose the weight and keep it off, but I have never had any regrets. I was banded over a year ago, 5/12/06 and have lost 62 lbs. I have another 30-40 lbs. to go. Congrats on your decision to go with the lapband. Good luck to you!
  8. yes, in fact I just started a thread since I didn't see yours. It's been over a year since my banding and this is the only problem I've had. It can be quite annoying, although not really painful. I've tried different products, like tums, and gas-x strips and chewable tablets, but so far nothing seems to help. I get my pain when I'm hungry. It worsens if I don't eat for a time after the pain starts. HELP!!!!!
  9. Thanx for the replies...and I wish I had lost 62lbs. in a month, but it took me a year. I was banded in 2006. I am very happy with my progress, just disappointed in myself for not having lost the whole 100lbs. I want to lose. I do appreciate your input, this is my first time posting anything.
  10. Has anyone else ever experienced this...when I get hungry my shoulder starts to ache, I'm assuming from the gas in my stomach. I've tried tums, but they don't seem to help. suggestions? FYI: I had my banding last may 5/12/06. Lost 62lbs. so far.
