Tell me why you love your band.
I love my band for all the reasons posted above and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm enjoying my life now more than I have in 20 yrs. because of my weight. Was a 22 pants now a sz 4. Whoop!!!! What's not to love, huh?

Need suggestions please
:bored: I was having the same problem, my mouth was dry and my throat hurt as well. I told my surgeon at my 1 week check up and was told I wasn't drinking enough water. I know you can't drink before and after you "eat" but make sure you get plenty of H2O during the day and it should get better for you. Good luck and hang in there....what a great journey you've embarked upon. :smile2: Joanie )

Any regrets?
No regrets at all, except that I didn't get it done sooner. Hope you feel the same, looking forward to hearing about your progress. Good luck! Joanie )

does anyone have really loud girgling type noises?
I do have what I call "gurgling" or small burps that don't come out. They seem to be in my esophygus. And , yes, people have heard mine. I can, sometimes, also feel, and hear when my food passes through my band into my big stomach. Weird! I'm curious to see what answers you get. Joanie )

I finally got it thru my thick head
 Good for you...I'm over 3yrs out and still haven't got it through my thick skull that I need to slow down and take smaller bites. Guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but I'm pluggin' away at it. Keep up the good work and best of luck to you. Joanie )

Cold Feet: Any try to follow diet without getting banded?
I tried to follow the diet years ago and I couldn't do it. I love food and it loves me...LOL! Like KayleighsMommy said...I have never regretted getting the band, even at the roughest times. For once in my life, I actually am happy with my body. What a shame it took me so long to get here. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Joanie )

Be Honest....
OMG...really, the truth is I never even thought about it...this poll kinda made me think...my daughter will be starting med school this summer...she could unfill me if necessary, I guess. (at least after she's been in med school a bit, huh? ) haha!

Please help
Good advise from everyone...you need to get into a support group and also go see if you need a fill....I would also suggest the 5 day pouch test. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test Good luck, Joanie )

Bandster Hell AND Surgeon Hell
:wink2: I'm glad to see you're getting a different dr. That one should get some bedside manner adjustments. Did you ever say who he was, I didn't see a name...just wondering because I can see my surgeon acting like that. (the surgeon that actually put my band in, I am seeing someone else now, alittle closer to home) I wish you luck and you are doing super girl!!! later, Joanie )

Vitamin and Supplement help please
I take the centrum silver chewables (I'm 55yrs young LOL !) and I have to take the chewable caltrates for bone loss (nothing to do with my banding though) I'm sure your dr will advise you as to what he prefers you to take. Good luck! Joanie :wink2:)

Lapband's dirty little secret
Sorry to hear about ya'lls problems with your surgeons. My sister and I both used the same surgeon and we have both, since switched drs without any problems...in fact I switched twice when I found one I liked better than the second one.

Rant "Teenagers Can't eat a whole one"
My daughter is now almost 23yrs old and getting ready for med school. but there was a time when she was in jr high that I couldn't handle her attitude anymore and told her she was going to have to go live with her dad. She didn't, but I had had enough. She is my life and through all the ups and downs in our relationship I would give my life to save hers. Good luck and as they say "this too shall pass". Joanie )

need help
Wow, you have done just great, even with your snacking... I understand the hungry feeling, I was the same way when I was first done. Eventually your stomach will get used to not eating as much and you won't always feel hungry. More Protein is a good idea, and also keeping track of what you eat is another. Tell your doc what's going on and ask about a larger fill this time, but don't go too tight. I noticed your live in Texas, me too. I'm in Beeville, where are you at? Good luck, Joanie )

I accidentally put on my husbands jeans today
I know the feeling...last year, '07 actually, I was able to wear a pair of my husbands sz 34 camo pants for halloween . Whoohoo! Now they are too big on me...I love it!!!

In the deciding phase of having surgery- has anyone regretted having the surgery?
Nope, not a one....even on my more difficult days, the trip was sooo very worth the destination....do it and you won't have any regrets either.
