June 16, 200917 yr Hi.. im very close to surgery, and i want to prepare and buy the vitamins that i will need... I take a multi... but i heard about calcium and Biotin for hair... any advice will be appreciated.. thanks
June 17, 200917 yr I take Flintstone Chewables (x2 a day) and Caltrate chews (x2 a day). These are required by my surgeon. I was never able to find a Biotin that was easy to take. I used a hair Skin and Nails formula with 3000mcg of biotin and had to take three caplets a day. I would split them and slowly take them 1/2 at a time over an hour or so. June 17, 200917 yr Author thanks so much for the information. I will see what my surgeon says when i see him in a couple of weeks... :wink2:
June 17, 200917 yr I take the centrum silver chewables (I'm 55yrs young LOL !) and I have to take the chewable caltrates for bone loss (nothing to do with my banding though) I'm sure your dr will advise you as to what he prefers you to take. Good luck! Joanie :wink2:)
June 17, 200917 yr I take Centrum Silver Chewables, too. I didn't figure kiddie vitamins would really meet my needs. But then, I'm 53, a kiddie 5 times over. . . .
June 17, 200917 yr I take Centrum Silver Chewables, too. I didn't figure kiddie Vitamins would really meet my needs. But then, I'm 53, a kiddie 5 times over. . . . A lot of people think that way but my doctor said I am getting the same benefits as taking other chewables and I feel I can tolerate the taste better than the adult chalky chewables I've tried, so am more apt to take them regularly. The bottle says 1/2 tablet for children aged 2-3 and one tablet for adults and children over 4. I double up on both my multi and calcium;my choice but doc says it is OK.
June 17, 200917 yr I dunno, Jodi, I compared the ingredients. Seems like the Centrum Silver Chewables have more of the old people needs stuff in it. But. . . as always, follow your own doctor's advice!
