  1. Thank you! I am averaging about 40-60 grams of protein a day,I seriously need to work on upping it but I try as hard as I can. You need between 60-80 grams, some docs even say 100! I am averaging anywhere between 20 ounces(on a bad or very busy day) and 60 ounces of liquids a day. You need at least 64 ounces so I need to up that too. It requires constant sipping. It is do-able,I just think our sleeves take a while to adjust and for all of the swelling to go down completely. I think this next month I will be able to reach my liquid and protein goals more easily. =) I do feel like I would have maybe lost more in my first month if I would have consumed more liquids and protein, but 20 lbs is still awesome so I'll def take that! Oh,one good trick to getting some of your liquids AND Proteins in at the same time is to get a 20 oz bottle full of water, add a thing of lemonade crystal light to it,then add a whole packet (or scoop if you bought a whole container) of strawberry Protein powder. Makes the most refreshing strawberry lemonade drink and if you finish the whole thing that's 20 ozs of water(1/3 of your Fluid intake for the day) and 20 grams of protein! I use the Strawberry Sorbet from
  2. Thank you all so much! I musta been retaining ALOT of fluid in the before pics(I ate alot of sodium foods before, blekkk :/) bc I looked so swollen! No wonder I was miserable! I feel so much lighter already and I feel great!
  3. Oh I have been meaning to post a thread about this!!! I have Twin labs chewable and I haven't taken them for 3 days now bc they are so nasty I just couldn't stand it any longer!!!! =(( I need suggestions for chewables that are at least tolerable please!! Bariatric advantage? I may have to check that out. Does anyone know when we can start taking actual pill for vitamins instead of chewables? And yes Calcium Citrate is better than just Calcium bc we can absorb it better.
  4. This is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! Before and after pics???? Would LOVE to see your transformation thus far!!! Congrats, keep up the great work!!!
  5. Lovin my sleeve! I am one month out and have lost 20 lbs as of a few days ago. I only weigh myself on Mondays so I may have lost a few more lbs since then. If I had any tips to give it would be to make sure you are getting as close to your goal for liquids and Protein as you can each day as well as moving as much as possible! It will keep you energized along with help in the weight coming off!!! I still have a long ways to go but I am very satisfied with my progress so far. I started in size 24 pants that fit a lil tight and a size 2-3x shirt,I'm now in size 20 pants that fit perfect and a size XL shirt!!!! =))) My goal for the next 30 days is to lose at least another 20 lbs. Here are a couple before and after pics,I do still have alot to lose,it's only been a month since surgery. :/
  6. Have you tried Greek yogurt? It is high in protein but you wanna get the unflavored kind. Then you can flavor it with sugar free preserves and sugar free flavoring syrup like Torani, that's what I use anyway. I am 1 month out and on soft foods now but I still eat the Greek yogurt for snack bc it is soo good and high in protein. Also if you order some unflavored protein, you can mix it in anything you eat. www.unjury.com is where I order from. LOVE their protein! You can make some mashed potatoes and mix the protein in it. They even have protein in the form of cheddar cheese sauce,it's awesome on mashed potatoes or mashed cauliflower if you wanted a healthier option.
  7. I agree with sleeve 4 me and roy boy. I had to give my scale to my mom when I hit my first stall at one and a half weeks out!! I just kept doin what I was supposed to-getting as much liquids and protein in as I could and moving as much as I could. Sure enough when my mom brought my scale back to visit me,lol,I had lost 4 lbs in a week. I will so take that! We'll all get there if we keep the mentality that we got this surgery as a tool and we are gonna work that tool to our advantage!!! I am a firm believer in the sleeve and also that you have to keep those liquids flowing in your body and the protein up for your body to let that pesky fat go!
  8. Good idea! Yea,I hate that feeling like the meat is just sitting there. I get wayyyy too full wayyyy too fast also when the meat isn't moist enough. Like after 1 or 2 baby bites I can't stomach anymore.
  9. I find I have to drown any meat in something. Most of the time hot sauce..lol. I am def gonna check out egg face. Thanks girl!
  10. I've tried dipping it in seasoned greek yogurt, marinading, drowning it in hot sauce with a lil lite blue cheese on top lol. Anyone else wanna chime in?
  11. That's awesome!!!! Congrats, you're halfway through your first week,it only gets better from here!!!
  12. Sorry =( It happens to all of us! Ya just have to work through it. You'll get through it!!!! ((HUGS)) Check out lilmissdivas boot camp or even the pouch test.
  13. Great job!! I can't imagine how awesome it must feel to not have to look at the 200's anymore!!!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!
  14. 8 lbs in a week is awesome! Congrats sounds like you're doin great!!
  15. First let me say congrats on your decision to take on this life changing journey!!! Yes,it is still normal to have a bit of pain at a week out. And it is also normal to be swollen still. Usually in the 2nd week, things start feeling better but everyone is different. You will be able to exercise eventually. Just do what you can,and rest. =) I will be a month out on Wednesday and just today I was able to do my first mile. I didn't wanna over work myself. Just remember to sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk and you'll be fine! Soon,it won't even feel like you had surgery, just you will be able to eat MUCH less!!!! =)
  16. Oh my gosh,I am so gonna try the SF instant coffee with the MML tomorrow! YUM! thank you for the idea!!!
  17. I stay away from the reg bc it has like 240 or 260 calories. I don't know what it is,I just love the MML for some reason. It goes down wayyyy better than Protein shakes. =)
  18. It has become really hard for me to stomach the protein shakes,so I tried muscle milk light a while back....YUMMMMM!!!! It goes down so good,my sleeve is lovin it! They are so darn expensive though! I have one for breakfast every morning after I get in my first 20 ozs of water...My problem is,when I try to eat like a bit of cottage cheese or soft chicken or something for lunch or dinner,I can't get enough down for it to be nutritionally good for me! And what I do get down keeps me so full for the rest of the day/night that it is hard to even get in the rest of my required liquids! Sooo here is my question: Can't I just live off muscle milk light and water for now? LOL Seriously though,I am thinking of just having a couple muscle milk lights a day,it would be 50 grams of protein,320 calories and 9 grams of fat! Then once I get that and my liquids in,I can try to eat something more solid. Idk,I think being 1 month out is a very confusing time, but I am enjoying learning more about my body and the signs it gives. Still love my new sleevie!!!! =))
  19. I have my 4 week follow up on Wednesday. I eat until I feel that full to the rim feeling too. AND I weigh the food! =( I can never eat the 3 ozs I weigh out, more like 1.5 ozs tops. I was told to get a scale and weigh the food at my nutrition class! :/ So we should be measuring it? Like how do u measure chicken? The first thought to come to my head would be to get a 1/2 cup measuring cup and use that since it would be the same as 4 ozs? So,very confused now.
  20. It's ok!! Thank you so much! =) Good luck to you!
  21. Great idea! I am so very thankful for my sleeve and my new lease on life!
  22. Wow,fast!!! A big congrats to you on getting a date!!!!!! Good luck, you will be so happy with your new sleeve! I'm almost a month out and love it!
  23. Congrats on getting your stent out!! I know you have to be so happy!! AND congrats on your 55 lb loss! That's phenomenal!!!!! I haven't tried OJ yet,I'm only almost a month out. But for some reason I have to put hot sauce on everything I eat,and I soak all the meats I cook in lemon juice to make them tender. I have an obsession since my sleeve with sour and spicy! My sleeve loves it!
