  1. On days I work, I'm a housekeeper, I drink 2% milk while I'm working. It really keeps me hydrated and gives me energy. Hope you have an easy time of it!
  2. I've found that the sleeve has made me be more aware of the food than before. It isn't like I wasn't aware of food, heck that's all I thought about. But I would mindlessly eat and eat and eat never really enjoying the food or tasting it. It was just a way to shut off or numb my brain. I didn't care the times of day or what I was drinking with my meal. Now I have to be aware to get good nutrition. To eat several times a day or I'll forget to eat at all. I eat slowly and chew well. To get whatever I want to drink before eating. To stop eating or drinking 90 minutes before bed or I will be up with heartburn all night. To never eat before I lay down. Not to overdo it on carbs or sweets especially when I'm out since it makes me sick. To put my fork down between bites. When we go out, I order the best thing on the menu. What looks like it taste the best instead of volume. My whole family eats better now. I don't enjoy eatting out much. Oh and I love soups! How has beeing sleeved changed eating for you?
  3. Congrats! Now where's the pics? I need some motivation today!
  4. I wish we had a Macy's here but we don't. I need to go get sized for a bra. My boobs are definatly droopy so there'd be no way to measure them w/o a bra on. I'd get a 38 Long and flat if that were the case. Gap has some nice clothing for I think about any age and banana Republic but they can be quite pricy. I know I've gone with a 25 year old very well dressed friend to those stores and also my 60 year relative who is a business woman. I don't know about their size though. LL bean is another you can check out and maybe Eddie Bauer? Something funny I was also thinking of when I read this. I've always been the odd girl (Piercings, dyed hair, outrageous clothing) but now that I'm losing weight I don't find myself attracted to mainly all odd styles. I think before it was "Notice that I'm odd not that I'm fat" and now I just don't care. Helluva a change being I'm 32. : /
  5. I get it when I eat too fast or have something way too sweet. it has mostly gone away!

  7. Mine are turning into puddles in the cup of my bra. I've always had saggy boobs. My mom never told me to wear a bra a lot so through my teens and early twenties most of the time I never wore a bra just like a light sports bra thing (no support) and I've had boobs since the 3rd grade. The way they are going I can imagine they will looking like icing tubes : /
  8. I went shopping a couple days ago. My undies that I got at Lane Bryant 14/16 were getting baggy and even though I don't buy a lot of clothes on my way down I do treat myself to good undies. So we went to LB and that's the lowest size they carry. I tried on a pair of 14s and they were [ ] close to fitting. So I will be sized out of LB soon. We went to Target and I was able to shop in regular womens OH THE SELECTION! I'm lost. Really lost. I have found I have no fashion sense. In LB or the plus size section it's what fits, isn't insanly expensive, and doesn't have puffy paint/mirrors on it. That narrows it down to about 3 items and I pick whatever's in black and is slimming. Done. But in regular womens.....my god there are a lot of choices. And I feel so odd, like I shouldn't be there. Like everyone is looking at me just waiting for me to realize I'm in the wrong section of the store. Just to think about going to the mall. Before I could shop at Torrid and department stores plus section (but I didn't) so it was Torrid then leave. Now there are millions of stores. Which am I too old to shop in? Can I buy stuff at Victoria's secret? Do they size you without your bra on. So many questions and wonders.
  9. One of my best friends had DS and that was the absolute correct surgery for her. She likes to eat a lot of food and doesn't want to restrict her diet. I and another of her friends had the VSG and I am sure that it will be the best choice for us. We have less to loose than she. If she were to regain her weight in no way would I be unsupportive or say she should have done X. I would hope she would be the same way toward me. Maybe this surgery won't work for me maybe I will regain, there is no way to tell. I am a food addict and I'm of the opinion that I will take smaller steps to help with my addiction than to dive in head first and deal with DS complications. One of the clients I clean for, her daughter had a ds and lost down to 91lbs. She was a head secretary for Disney Studios and now she can't balance her check book. There are pluses and minuses to every surgery. I'm happy with my vsg even if I am a slow looser. Even in I never get to single digit pants numbers, even if I don't get to goal. I'm happy!
  10. Sounds just like my experience! The A team is wonderful huh? Come sit on the loosers bench with us now!
  11. Amazing Brian, your post made me tear up.

Love it! I used to have my hair those colors. Your hair looks so thick!
  13. I think with the amount you have to lose (the same as me) the traditional sleeve would be better. I'm not sure I've seen anyone lose more than 60lbs with plication or at least not that many.
  14. Sexy! Congrats on your success!
  15. Most adults are lactose intollerant anyway we just don't realize it. Skin problems, gas, runny nose we dont' associate. Not many of us 30 year olds were meant to be still nursing (much less nursing from a cow) by design. Goat's milk is MUCH easier to tollerate as it is very close to human milk. If you can tollerate goat's milk you can tollerate goat's cheese and usually yogurt is easy on the body. Check out Coconut milk also for fluids. Beans are an excellent source of protien and you may consider adding either foul or fish into your diet. I was a veg head for years in my teens but added back in f&f because I was lacking in protien. You can also put some Peanut Butter in shakes or peanut flour. Where there's a will, there's a way.
  16. Eureka- My youngest son is like yours. He will have two bites of cake and annouce he is done. For the other 3 of us you are done with cake when there is no more. I believe so much of how/what/how much we eat is genetic.
  17. It is never easy and I miss those things you just mentioned. I have quit and started so many times I can't count. I started smoking when I was 17. Quit when I was 20 for 6 months. Quit when I was 24 (and pregnant) for 5 years and started again in june/julyish. I had to quit again before my surgery in October. It is one of the most difficult addictions to break of my life. I will say this though I have thought of smoking once since surgery. That was on New Years Eve when I had a glass of wine and saw someone smoking outside. The longer you are past it, the easier it is.

  19. Same, Sparkle. I wish I would have known about this surgery in my teens or twenties. OH how my life would have changed. I have always had a great business mind and I fall into leadership positions but was scared to go to the big business school around here because you have to dress up in business attire everyday as it counts for a grade. To do that while obese would have been way to expensive and I know I have faced prejudices in the work place for my weight. Not only has the sleeve given me hope for being healthier. Next year I am applying to business school.
  20. I have been so focused on this surgery and losing weight that I talk about it to my hubby all.the.time. Even to my Mom. I never put myself down like "I'm so fat. I hate being fat. Look at this fat stomach." Nothing like that but I comment "When I get skinny or I've lost X lbs" so now my 5 year old has been saying things like. "Mom my belly is fat. I eat too many sweets." "She's fat she needs your surgery, Mom." Not in a mean way but in a helpful, you should go tell her how much you love your surgery kinda way. He eats like me, and has cravings like I did so I expect he will have the same problems. We eat healthy and now I dont buy any sweets for inside the home. I'm worried about how this affects him so I have quit talking about it. I see him step on the scale quite a bit even though he has no idea what it means or says.
  21. A friend of mine swears by the ones at kohls. She says teh once piece that have the bras are great. She's a DS pt.
  22. I heard about that this morning I'm so sorry and sorry for the family of the killer too. How they must be asking where they went wrong. <hug>
  23. I went back to work as a housekeeper at 2 weeks and it was a little too soon. Kept getting dizzy when I would bend over. Went back at 3 weeks out and was fine. I was moving and working about 5-6 hours at a time.
  24. Yay that's awesome! Haven't seen you around much in a bit.
  25. I don't ever remember fitting into a size 8 or 10 so I would be so happy to get to either of those. I wore 18s in high school and 12/14/16 I think I missed size 8/10 completely (rapid weight gain after losing our house to a fire). I'm not too concerned with weight like you said as long as the scale number is going down
