Oh No... Not the "What if''s"!!!!
I had the same "what if's" as you. It's hard, I admit it. But it's so easy too. It's great and it's impowering. What if you didn't constantly think of food What if you didn't feel like white knuckling it to lose weight What if you didn't recognize yourself in the mirror What if you woke each day with a spring in your step What if?

You know you've been sleeved when.....
When you walk past a window or mirror and have to take a few steps back to see if that is really you. It is, and you look great!

You know you've been sleeved when.....
That reminds me of when I went to Shoneys with my Mom and kids (My kids love that place...ugh!) and I ordered a steak. It was a little over cooked but I took just 3 bites of it and I was done. The waitress asked if everything was okay, I said yes just fine. Then Mgr came by and asked and I said, "Yes, it's fine. Thank you." She took the plate away and when we got the bill they had taken the steak off my check. I even told the lady at the register that the steak was fine. I'm not going to lie and say it was good, cause it wasn't but I wasn't complaining!

How much willpower does it take?
I will say that the ways the VSG have helped me is that I don't constantly think about food. Before when I woke up it was "What to eat" now hours and hours go by and I feel a funny feeling in my tummy and relize it's hunger. It has made a huge difference. I am an emotion eater so when I get bored or tired I still go to food but eating 1/2 of a blt is a lot better than the 2 whole ones plus chips I would eat before. I try not to eat till "full full" I eat until I feel like I've had enough then stop. Doesn't his awalys work? No, sometimes I want more of whatever it is, I eat more and feel bad. I probably have something sweet once a day. I'm losing slow and its' because I choose to have treats here and there. I get that. I don't get in enough fluids or enough veggies. The point of my post is that you can still lose with the vsg by being middle of the road however don't expect to see these huge numbers like a few of the all stars unless you stick to the rules.

Dating Fears When It's All Over With
If someone isn't attracted to you they just aren't. It doesn't make them a bad person. There are somethings in men I find unattractive so I wouldn't try to be in a relationship with them, if those things changed my attraction to them might also change. As much as I would like to think looks don't matter, they do.

Unsupportive Sister and Mother
My mother and aunt were very against me having the surgery. I told them that there is no doubt I will get diabetes. That the more I gain the harder it will be for me to move and then lose weight. I showed them stats and even showed my mother this site. Finally I told my mother that this was my choice and I would like to have her support. I made it clear her not supporting me wouldn't change my mind. My aunt really just wanted to make sure I had done my homework. Even if they decided not to support you, we will.

Changed Surgeon's??
Go with your instincts! I had a bad feeling about my Dr in 2003 but was unable to change surgeons (No one wanted to touch anything he had done) I ended up with a pulmonary embolism and a horrible scar. I had to have 8 days in the hospital, almost died, and have another surgeon fix his work.

Feeling betrayed and ANGRY. Advice?
Oooo gurl! OOOOO First off I'd have a sit down talk with Hubby and I'd tell him that it was WAY out of line for him to discuss that with his parents without your permission. Then I'd tell him not to discuss your finanaces with his parents EVER again. EVER! I'd call a meeting with his parents you and your hubby and firmly tell them that they are not going to try to make decisions for you and your husband. That you and your husband and children if you have any are your family now. I'd lay the MFing law down sister. Hubby also said something to my inlaws without my permission and I'm sure that mistake won't happen again. Get your tongue ready and give those in laws a lashing they won't forget.

That's IT! I saw myself in full-lenth mirror in the day!!
I had a experience of eye opening the day before I decided on VSG. I had gone out with my girlfriend to a bar. As we sat there I noticed that no one looked at me not even to just conversate. I was completely ignored. It was like I didn't exist or wasn't even a person worth acknowledging. That night her and I were also taking pictures with the picutre phone. All of them I looked terrible in, I was sweaty and FAT. She took one that didn't look as bad as the others and said, "This is the most beautiful picture of you!" and I thought...is that how people see me? It was a terrible pic. I left the bar early with some excuse and decided on vsg shortly after. The ride so far has been amazing. You must know that you have to work at it though, it's not easy but it makes weightloss so much more sucessful, really gives you a fighting chance. I'd do it all over again!

I just keep melting away!! :-)

That is great news! My arms are so flabby and I know my tummy will be too. I was almost your same weight though I think you might be a little shorter and shaped like you too so its' nice to know that I might one day be as small.
