  1. I would think showering - as any scabs on your incisions will only get slightly wet rather than soak in a bath. Enjoy!! I know when I had my last op I loved that first shower afterwards.
  2. Hi Connie You're so right - from the sound of it you have spent your life giving... loving other people, and now this is time to reward yourself. Good luck with it all... let us know when you get your date... you'll find all the support you need right here from us all. Kathy
  3. I'm at that stage too.. ready but scared all at the same time. Good luck!! Kathy
  4. Zephra - have you measured yourself at all? It may be you're loosing inches not weight... and that the more you feel the urge to get on the scales each day the worse it'll makeyou feel. If you can try keeping off the scales for a couple of days, and upping your exercise if possible - you'll be fine.... Good luck hun Kathy
  5. Good luck - and keep walking.... every bit you can do before your surgery means its less to do after, and will put you in a better position for the surgery. My Dr likes an hour of walking a day pre op... so my dog will have no legs left I reckon!! Keep us informed how you get on Kathy
  6. Sounds like you're doing well - congrats!! Keep up the good work and good luck with your 1 week check up. Kathy
  7. Phat curves - You're lucky - in my plan I'm not allowed any fruit with skin on until at least after 35 days.....peeling grapes and cherries is gonna be one step beyond for me I reckon!! I do like the sound of the chicken hummous and avocado dip tho!! Very nice. Kathy
  8. Qualey - thanks for your post! Your weightloss is amazing you must feel so much better for it. We're lucky enough to have a pool, and I have been swimming to fitten myself up for the op in just over 2 weeks time. Can I ask when you say about the Protein are you talking about the 70g a day amount? Or more than that? Kathy
  9. OOh - now I just don't know! I suppose as I am a self pay, getting 2 ops for the price of one is better and at least I presume they go thru the same scars, so I'll not end up with more scars afterwards!!?!
  10. HI Diann and welcome I'm also waiting for pre op test results which I get next week, but think they will be ok - as i start my pre op diet the same day. You're sure to get some fab hints and tips of those sleeved on here.... I know I've starteddoing the things Tiff has advised, and also cleaned thru the kitchen cupboards to try and get rid of undesireable foods!! lol Good luck Kathy
  11. Hi Sherri and welcome to the board I'm sure you'll find this a wealth if information for you - I know I'd not go for the band having read too much bad stuff about it. You're in good company and I'm sure you'll find the support you need. Let us know when you get your date - good luck with your weigh in Kathy
  12. Hi and welcome I'm in on 10th June, so just behind you. I'm using this time to get as fit as possible before the op - I start my 7 day pre op diet next Thursday, and have started to take some Biotin to try and minimise hairloss (I'll do anything on that account!! LOL). I've also made and frozen a batch of broth, and one of blended chicken soup to help prepare ahead. I'll be doing a full house clean before I go in as well as all the usual washing and ironing. And I have begun to practise other things like smaller plate for my meals, smaller mouthfuls, chewing more, trying not to drink with meals (find that hard). Good luck with your op Kathy
  13. Awesome results.... well done. Keep up the good work Kathy
  14. Good to hear you're ok, even if you have lost your laptop. I bet your Dad will see a change in you - so you're in for a great time!! Keep up the good work Kathy
  15. Thanks Tiff - I spoke to hubby and while we first thought we'd get the Dr to remove it anyway, maybe it might be better to just wait and see....
  16. Laurel - be strong! It'll be worth it in the end to shrink your liver and also give your weightloss the kick start. I start mine next week - luckily its only one week, but I know it'll be hell... I may just do my exercises and drink my drinks and then go back to bed!!! I think I'll have massive issues that week more so than after the op, but to give myself a healthier life I am prepared to do this. Good luck Kathy
  17. I can really only echo what the others have said. If your bloke loved you then he would support your choices and help you along with it, perhaps eating at home for the first month until you are totally sorted with your foods and once you have your head around the portion control thing. Can I ask long term, can you see yourself with this guy? Would you marry him? How will he cope with your weightloss and looking more and more desireable... as you are a hotty! ) Sometimes life makes us sit down and evaluate our lives and the people around us, I've had several things happen in mine where now, I have little time for those people who are all about themselves. If he doesn't enhance your life, and make you smile each day, give you support and love and share in your pain then I would really seriously question what you get out of the relationship. The sleeve is a tough time as we're all giving up a love affair with food..... you don't need the extra stress that he appears to be giving you. Be strong...and use us all for the support you need, instead of turning to bad habits..... good luck Kathy
  18. Welcome - what a story!! I wish you luck with your sleeve - keep posting to let us know how you get on with it all - I really hope its a lot easie rthan what you have been through!! Kathy
  19. Heartonmysleeve - thanks for the tip..... sounds painful!! Kathy
  20. Ouroborous - thanks. I did chat to my Dr, who said if he found stones in it he would remove it, so I guess its just a waiting game - possibly the fact I have dieted more or less for the past 20 yrs or so might mean I have more chance of having them... so we'll see I'll search out the thread about stacking the deck to do as much as I can tho - thanks for the tip. Kathy
  21. Champ - please pass my thoughts onto your wife as well.... it really sucks that you've all had to go through this - and I do hope it resolves itself soon. In the meantime the suggestion about support in your area was a good one. Be strong I'm thinking of you all Kathy
  22. Thats great! well done. Kathy
  23. Fabulous result!! Well done! Keep up the good work!! Kathy
  24. Hi Laurel I still have just over a week before I start my pre op... and I think I may just hole myself up somewhere for it! lol Hopefully the next few days will fly by for you, and before you know it you'll be posting post op..... Take care and good luck Kathy
