Cherries Cherries Cherries

Recommended Posts

SO it will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I am doing great. I have learned a lot such as icecream makes me have chill, sweats and the worst sea sickness ever!! (BTW i would normally not have ice cream but I was stuck at a BaseBall Game with nothing to eat). Anything creamy makes me feel overloaded like I licked raw butter. YUK. I recently found that Isopure mixed with fruitpunch flavored crystal lite is the BOMB!

For those who are post op and maybe having problems with going to the bathroom I wanted to suggest CHERRIES. I have been eating a couple cups of fresh raw cherries and it has enough Fiber or something that is making me go. WHICH ROCKS NSV LOL. Just be careful not to swallow the pit as that could really make HUGE trouble. I also found that ground up chicken, hummus and avacado makes a great protien and Fiber dip.

Hope all is well...:crying:

Thanks for the tip on cherries, it will taste better than prunes and I need something.. as for how far out I don't see them being an issue with some docs. I was cleared for all foods after 2 weeks except raw veggies--fruits were fine. Its all up to the doc on that one.

Well, I spent first week completely clear, followed by full for four days before I was cleared for soft foods. I will call tomorrow and ask, lol now that I went back and picked a whole freaking basket. They havent made my tummy hurt or had any weird affect although I agree I should =check. He told me anything that would constitute as mushie and after mastication its mushie. He also said that as of tomorrow I could try chicken and potatoes and carrots etc and see how i felt. I guess I need to call with a list of questions.

The only thing I have had a problem with is icecream and a heavy sause that was at olive garden. That was dumping syndrome 101.

Are you sure you can have that? The skin?

Phat curves - You're lucky - in my plan I'm not allowed any fruit with skin on until at least after 35 days.....peeling grapes and cherries is gonna be one step beyond for me I reckon!!

I do like the sound of the chicken hummous and avocado dip tho!! Very nice.

Ok, so you all have whipped me into a complete crazed frenzy and I just called my DR. office to check on the status of the cherries. The lady said that they do no recommend eating them because of the pit and also because they are high in sugar. I said what about the skin (FYI 2 cups was like 145c and they go along way for snack food and to satify any sweet craving) and she was like the skin is fine but the sugar and if you accidently swallow the pit it could be really bad.

So if that is the reason they say I am going to take the pound bag I just walked around for 2hrs picking and keep a quarter and give the rest away I guess. I am eating about 800-855 calories a day and I have lost 21lbs as of today and as of this morning it is officially 14 days.

*****Please anyone who wants fruit or cherries (which apparently may not be a good idea) PLEASE call your doc first. Every docs diet is different and I do not want anyone to suffer badly because of this post. Like I said I was completely fine but thats me.

xoxoxoxo love to you all

I'm glad you called! Thanks for the update too.

I was just worried because my nut made a pretty big deal about not eating the skin off of fruit for a good long while. I'm glad your doc says that's not a problem for you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
