just saying hello

Hi everyone,

My name is Sherri, I was first considering the Lap band but after much research have decided on the sleeve. I have posted some on the lap band site, and thought it was time to come over here to.

I have had my orientation and surgeon consult, i have my psych appointment tomorrow.

I was given a pre op weigh loss goal of 10 lbs. Depending on how much my clothes weigh tomorrow I should be at or near that goal. My Dr. is Dr. Fisher at Kaiser Richmond.

I am about 130 lbs overweight and have yo-yo'ed all my life. I have lost over 100 lbs several times only to gain it back .

I am hoping this "tool" will be what I need to keep it off.

anyone who has had Dr Fisher and has any information good or bad I would greatly appreciate it..

Thanks

Sherri :puke4:

Gratz on making your decision, and good luck with your consults. Keep us posted of your progess.

The member Lee had her surgery at Kaiser Richmond by Dr. Baggs. You might want to PM her for information about that center. I had mine done at Kaiser So. San Francisco. Sorry I don't know about Dr. Fisher, but I can say that Kaiser has a good and thorough program. I did do a search and found the Lee made a comment in one of her posts that Dr. Baggs and Dr. Fisher double up in OR. Hoper that helps, but definetley contact Lee

I also was going for the band then decided I would rather have the sleeve. Another plus is Cigna is my ins and they now cover it.

Hi Sherri and welcome to the board

I'm sure you'll find this a wealth if information for you - I know I'd not go for the band having read too much bad stuff about it. You're in good company and I'm sure you'll find the support you need.

Let us know when you get your date - good luck with your weigh in

I had my psych appointment yesterday and I was below my pre-op goal weight !! Yeah !

I just got off the phone with Kaiser Richmond and they ordered my labs and EKG, as soon as I get those done I can call for my case manager appointment.. !!

I am on cloud 9 and scared at the same time.. :scared0:
