  1. I think your kids will do just fine coming to see you! I came out of the anesthesia at 2pm and did nit go back to sleep until after midnight. Then I was up all night walking around to expel gas. You'll be fine!
  2. Congratulations! My first post-op visit is on 1/7, I was banded on 12/14. I have lost 24 lbs, but am sometimes humgry. Got a battle on my hans but I will not cheat!!!
  3. 1000 calories a day and 64 ozs gets the weight loss going for me along with daily exercise!
  4. The only things I get "stuck" with is peels, rice, and seeds. Rice is bad for brand new bands. Maybe later. I was told that just as I could never more drink carbonated drinks, i should never ever eat popcorn! Also, be careful with stringy foods!
  5. My doctor says 1/2 cup protein first. i do it! Don't want to stretch out the baby stomach!
  6. Banded on 12/14 and same here. Weight loss stopped but losing inches. The more water you can drink the better! Flush those inches off!
  7. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat! You are taking in protein and exercising which builds muscle as the fat is pushed out! Don't worry much about weight right now and try on some clothes and you'll see the difference! Plus in my case, people can see what I can't!!
  8. Yep! Don't worry every day will be better as swelling goes down!
  9. To me this is normal. I was banded on 12/14 and just this week the swelling on the port incision is subsiding. O have a small bump right under the port incision and it's still a bit sore but nothing to worry about!
  10. They all shrink fast, but these scars I am proud to wear!
  11. I just had my banding on 12/14 at Tampa Memorial Hospital. Who is your surgeon? I loved that hospital and staff!
  12. You guys are so funny but it's the absolute truth! After the surgery farting is an absolute pleasure!
  13. How are you feeling? We were banded on the same day and I am still sore, still cannot wear anything on my waist because i'm bloated. I did start mushies today! I had egg salad (puree), som Philly chives and onion cream cheese and three or four tiny non fat/ no salt potato chips! So far so good! My port is just always so sore! Sorry to complain, I'm just a big wuss!
  14. I don't pay anything. Medicare pays 100% because of pre existing illness. Whatever else is covered by supplemental.
