  1. I saw my surgeon this week and he said the minimum amount of water makes the food slip through the band and that's not how the band works! Weight loss= NO WATER 1/2 hr before or 1/2 hour after!
  2. You will do fine, it's all normal! God bless you! Keep us posted!
  3. I still get shoulder pain when I am full. I am 8 weeks out!
  4. I don't hiccup, I get a runny nose! That's my soft spot!
  5. I am eight weeks out and can honestly say that just this week I can't even tell where it is! Cannot feel the port anymore!
  6. Use a heating pad for the gas. Use it on your back and also on your tummy. Peppermint tea is really good too!
  7. For the lady two weeks I have had company from out-of-state. I did not lose one single pound in those two weeks! Yesterday I walked mile and lost two pounds and today I walked again. Waiting to see what happens tomorrow. For me, no exercise= no loss!
  8. I had very slight bleeding and it looked like it wanted to come apart but I'm in the medical field and I just purchased some steri strips by bandaid and put a new one on for another 10 days! Never even told the doctor. When I went in to see him at 4 weeks. He looked at them and they were fine. You can put noes potion around the opening but not on the open area!
  9. I love dulce de lechwe but it's too sweet for me!
  10. Careful you don't tear your stitches around the band. If you do with the weight of SIDS your band can slip or flip!
  11. I was banded on 12/14, first fill is 2/11. Did not get fill on first post op visit. My Dr. Is a pioneer for lap band in US and he is very careful. Has low complication rate! I am in "bandster hell". But relearning!
  12. I am almost 6 weeks out and it still gets sore every day. Don't worry it'll go away
  13. Congratulations, great job!
  14. Try not to wait too long and don't use a heating paid. If its a fluid pocket the fluid will come up to a boil. I dont mean to scare you but it happened to me with a previous surgery.
  15. Drink lots more water. Possibly 2-3 liters. Remember many of us go through the " feeling freezing " all the time after surgery. I would take my temp a few times a day and was in sweatshirts all day and I live in central Florida. I am still cold most of the time!
  16. I have tried the warm boiled water with lemon! Works for me too!
  17. Great article. I found it and posted it on our FB group page Lapband Divas!
