  1. Never be afraid or ashamed to be "contra-normal". It is our time and we have waited enough!
  2. I am 11 days post-op from hiatal hernia repair and banding. Since day two I am having a lot of pain right where the hernia was. I know this because I know what hernia pain is! Have been taking Nexium but surgeon stopped it before surgery. I cannot sleep without waking at least 3 x with pain. Has been hurting all day! Anyone experiencing something similar?
  3. Thanks peace and blessings to you too!
  4. I know that you can cut them very small and swallow but you run the chance of burning a hole in the thinned out stomach lining! The Percocet is very irritating! Don't risk it it isn't worth it. You'll only need them for a few days anyway!
  5. Hi, I am 10 days post op and allergic to all pain meds except Percocet. You will need a pill crusher and a small medicine cup. Crush your pill and fill the cup with flavored juice. Chug it down it passes ok then fill the cup again and rinse down. I still have port pain but not enough for meds! The gas is what's still killing me because I had hiatal hernia repair. Peppermint tea works better than Gas-x! Hope I was able to help!
  6. What a great Christmas present! Congrats and keep up the good work!
  7. Merry Christmas to all and The next year will be good to us all!
  8. Thanks Jackie and merry Christmas to you too!
  9. Yes, and we'll be a lot skinnier too!
  10. Merry Christmas to you too! I can't help but feeling so proud of you! Keep it up! It doesn't matter what we had to go through to get here, what matters is that we're here! Merry Christmas to all!
  11. It's kind of a mind/body survival mode! The night before I started liquids I had a Taco Bell XXL Steak Nachos and the largest Diet Coke I could find! Man that's almost two pounds of food!
  12. I'm not starving I'm just sick of liquids, but I know it's not worth messing up my band! Think of it this way one more week of liquids and you'll be off to mushies! Then, it's done!
  13. Don't feel bad. I believe in pricing myself for goals met, and I also believe in portion control. Yes this is a commitment you made to change your lifestyle, but you know what Christmas and family gatherings come around once a year! I doubt you'll be able to eat a whole slice of pie anyway; so relax!! Eat whatever they are eating as long as you are eating healthy and don't overdo it! Then later, have 1/2 slice of pie! Then consider it a prize for all you've done for yourself!
  14. That's how I felt the day before surgery! A hot broth helps at the moment!
  15. LannahLouise you are getting too complicating and complicating everyone else! If you do not agree with the posts, then how about maybe moving on?
  16. God bless to both of you! You will be just fine. I got banded last Friday and I'm just fine!
  17. I was banded on 12/14 and I feel my band is tight early in the morning right when I wake up! Is that normal or is it gas and swelling?
  18. I was banded last Friday and used the same clothing I wore to the hospital! The only pain I've had is gas pain, but I walked day and night in the hospital, took 2 gas x twice a day, and peppermint tea which really helped. At home, a heating pad works to relive gas! Don't worry, you'll be fine! God bless and good luck!
  19. You are only 20, of course your skin will bounce back! It does take targeted exercises, and patience. It takes 12-16 months for the skin to conform. That is an issue I battle with, but I'm 55.
  20. Gas has been the only problem for me. I am on liquids also and feel that every time I drink, I'm filling up with air again! It's so painful!
