  1. That's crazy!! I get monthly massages, even before surgery!!
  2. I've been tracking my BP. It has dropped 15 points on average! That is amazing! I can't wait to be off medication completely!!
  3. So, as the weight and inches come off, the happier I seem to be. More and more people are noticing my weight loss. My BFF wants to Celebrate my 50 pound mark. However, I don't know how to celebrate without food or spending money (even though a pedicure sounds amazing right now)! How do you all celebrate without food and without spending money?! Thanks! Nikki Surgery March 4, 2013 SW: 368.6 CW: 321.0
  4. I was free to get into the pool at 2 weeks as well.
  5. I had a vodka drink just under my six week mark. Vodka w crystal light actually lol. I drank about half and was super giggly. And I waited 2 hours before I drive home. Beer has bubbles which is on the "no-no" list. I've never been a wine fan. Liquor it is!!
  6. So to get the topics rolling... I was talking to someone recently, who is a sleeve patient, and they said that they would never date a "non-sleever" because they don't know what it's like. Thoughts?! I see it being more convenient in the beginning while one is learning how to eat and learning their new lifestyle... But I'm not going to count other people out.
  7. I'm almost 6 weeks out and i eat about 1000 calories a day. I'm trying to get up to 1200 day because I don't want to slow my metabolism.
  8. Found another one! Haha! Yes... I'm kind of a nerd!!
  9. I went through Dr. Atkinson! Surgery was March 4th! I'm down 34.6 pounds and almost 26" are gone!! I have no regrets. And I, too, was a cash patient!!
  10. Here's mine!! My ten year reunion is coming up!! Lol
  11. I was clear to get into the pool at 2 weeks. Every doctor is different.
  12. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and have yet to throw up. I definitely do not eat a lot of food, and to be honest, I'm a little scared to try certain foods (like chicken breast; I'm sticking to shredded chicken). I agree with the above post. Measure and eat slowly!!
  13. My friend swears by this product. I bought a bottle online. It tastes yummy too!!
  14. I'm just over 2 weeks out and got 2 tattoos Wednesday. No abnormal bleeding (the top of my foot bled which is normal). So far I'm healing just fine. I think a month is good if that works for you.
  15. I'm just over 2 weeks post op and got 2 tattoos Wednesday. One on the inside of my right wrist and one on the top of my right foot. Here's my opinion for IV's. I'm a paramedic and from my 8 years of starting IV's the wrist is the most painful spot to go. There are a ton of nerve endings on the inside of your wrist. I will not stick there unless it is a last resort.
  16. I'm currently out of town but I'm definitely going to have to check out this theory when I get home!!!
  17. I had gallbladder problems BEFORE my sleeve and had it removed. My initial hida scan showed a normal range, but my repeat showed it functioning at 9%. Keep on top of your dr w retesting if you aren't getting answers.
  18. My starting weight was 368. I think that works out in my favor. Also, I wasn't loaded with a bunch if fluid at the hospital. I was 8 pounds down when I got home. I honestly don't have a set routine yet. I do a protein shake in the morning. I drink water all day. Im on soft foods so I have puréed chicken for lunch and dinner varies. Meatballs, taco meat. For a snack ill have a slice of cheese. I need to start increasing my protein up again.
  19. Awesome!! I was sleeved the fourth as well!! Down 26.6!! My clothes are starting to feel different. I love it!!!
  20. I had that realization too. All I could think about is "no wonder I got so big!"
  21. I'm so glad you knew the signs and were checked out!!
  22. I had problems sleeping before surgery. I take 2 melatonin (buy OTC) every night and that helps. I am 2 weeks post op and have no problem taking pills. They also say avoid eating too late and avoid working out a few hours before bed.
  23. I got some info from a family member. http://www.brownfuneralhomeswv.com/book-of-memories/1518898/Greenfield-Fred/view-condolences.php There's the website if anyone would like to leave a condolence...
  24. A lot of the "hunger" I felt was from the acid and not actual hunger at all.
