  1. Suzzie------ I'm here, but got some leaky roofs.... All the people I've checked on so far, are OK. I may get to got to the support meeting at the surgery center tomorrow evening. Anyone else going?
  2. I was nervous too... but I'm great, and think you will be too.
  3. TOOOO FUNNNY! I wish I could have seen the reaction. lol
  4. Margarita frozen- not anymore... for me... but on the rocks is fine. The frozen ones are soooo cold my band tightens up in like 2 seconds and than I can't even drink. It has sooo worth it to me. Message me if you want to know more -from my perspective. Kimberly
  5. Hi MM. Sorry to hear you are disappointed. :tt2: My 2 cents :blush:would be that Dr. Edwards is worth the wait, if you have to wait. But, to be pro-active ....you should call Mary T. or voicemail her, and see if she can get you "penciled" in, before they start scheduling and re-scheduling others. You may want to remind her that your financing is already secured. :frown: As far as working, I don't know how active you must be at work... but I had a 1 year old to care for. He did such a great job, I was sleeping on my tummy(the only way I can sleep) day one, and caring for "Mazie" day 2. More time would be nice. But it was do-able. Good luck- keep me posted on updates. -Kimberly
  6. Self pay ------ as of 4-2-07 (my surgery date) was one year of free fills (and I got 6 of them). Everyone is different, I have heard one say she has had only 2 fills, and lost over 100 pounds. Good luck, and DO go to the seminar- it will answer tons of questions... take some paper to jot down questions for after the information. Most will get answered as he goes along, but he has always answered questions after too.
  7. My 2 cents- I am not very well disciplined - never have been, or I would not need this surgery. I follow all of the rules- some of the time. Most of the rules - most of the time. And indulge myself- occasionally. I am winning- I am feeling successful. I used to lose 20 pounds- by starving/struggling. Then right away gian 23 pounds. I ended up at 367 pounds starting out- now 230 pounds. I feel great, and couldn't have done this with out my band. For those who can, great--- but I never could. It's been 13 months, and I feel so different! Different like- great! Like- I could jog for a few minutes! Not like -I could sit at the park, and watch others play with the kids- but I can get up and do it myself. Good luck and great health to each of you!
  8. Legster- you may not want your pic taken... but I must say, when we ran into each other the other day- you look wonderful! Hollygurl- You can do it! Liquids are difficult :unsure:be will really make it safer for surgery. I am thinking of you during this difficult time. Kookie- pic looks great:thumbs_up:- hope the private message was helpful. jeesie- Keep us posted with updates. You too are in my thoughts:teeth_smile:. Suzie- are you going to Gruene? with the violets? I can't make it. CM-08- I don't travel too well:blink:, I hope 3 hours will be easy for you. Debbie- How are you doing starting year 2, being banded? :wink2: Over 70 pounds gone for good? You look great. Princess21- any updates- how many fills so far? Do you feel restriction yet?
  9. I had this issue too.... my understanding, is it could be dehydration- even with drinking alot of water- flushing out our fat, and other junk, takes extra-- so.. you might try drinking EVEN MORE. Sounds funny?

  11. I was banded last April. Good luck and great health to you. Just remember- everyone is different. For me.... I have no issues with a spinach salad, but I can't eat ice burg lettuce.
  12. Productive Burp- like spit up.... no bile in it. Some say it's like vomiting.... but not to me.
  13. Congrats to you both- so close together. I can not do any slim-fast... I still like atkins choc. delight/cold in the can , Or making a shake like... Peanut Butter cups. You should be able to go home the same day, just make sure you don't get rushed out of the hosp. and DO have some meds on hand for the ride home. Good luck to you both. I went to the meeting at the library, and next time they are having a Protein "swap". I'm taking some stuff I've got sitting around... if I go. Enjoy the weather, it will change soon- as always!
  14. I'm going to meeting at south campbell library... Monday evening 6:30pm.... the 28th.... who else might I see there? Keep posting those updates..... Kim:)

  16. WOW- you are going to be great! Hold on for the ride! luck and health to you!!!!!!!!!
  17. Going out with my 2 year old, and soon to be ex-husband.... does cause stress, and my band tightens up in no time. If I sense this coming on, I order one egg over easy! I'll never be able to eat a piece or 2 of bacon with it! Alone... I can easily eat 2 eggs and two bacon. Good luck and great health to you. Kimberly
  18. I'm still here thinking about everyone. Congrats- to all. My update... he has been served with divorce papers! He has a lawyer now too. This is the beginning, of the end (long overdue). lol He never called me a "fat ass" until I lost 100 pounds. Now that's his favorite name for me. More later, Kim
  19. mine was about 45 days---self pay.
  20. Quick reply to Hollygurl... If you lose weight, and have a good relationship it can get better.... if you have an already poor relationship, it can get worse. I think it has little or nothing to do with my weightloss, I feel better and healthier and more active, I'm not sure he has even noticed. I think feeling better, could have made me a better wife, but he would have to be sobber to notice. Best of luck and health to all. Keep in touch... I'm offline alot right now but will check in. I'm actually doing very well.
  21. I will soon be more active on this again... sorry to have been so unavailable. I have informed my husband that I am divorcing him. I have been ..... very busy. Good luck and health to all!
  22. Thank you ladies! I have let my attorney know what is suspected and known of using.. we will be checking for as much as possible. I told him about the big D in our therapy session Wed. Wish my daughter luck and peace. Thanks!
  23. My experience is all I know.. 130# in 1 year and 1 week. Good luck to you.
  24. A year is not so long.... I was 367# now 239#. My band-aversary was five days ago. Hang in there, and remember....you get out... what you put in.
  25. Hang in there.. it will come.
