  1. Not sure about KC... but I was self pay doc Edwards, and just over $17,000 @ st johns springfield mo.
  2. I do not do slim fast-ever! I do like Atkins advantage chocolate delight... not too sweet, and it's low carb. I buy fruit drinks at healthy weight super market in Springfield Mo... that come in a bottle, and you add water and shake. Lemon-razzy is my favorite. I also buy the protein hot choc. from there too. It's a warm and wonderful change from all the "cold" protein. I blend a meal replacement from the Pudding/shake powder packets they sell.... "RESSES SHAKE" thick and filling. 1 pack of choc. pudding/shake powder 1 cup water 1 cup ice 1/2 cup cottage cheese- I use fat free- 1 tbl. peanut butter blend well... if you don't like chunky texture- some do -I don't. Good luck . Hope this helps- everyone is so different!
  3. I have no soda/carbonation - coffee some days, but caffeine is an appitite stimulant. good luck.
  4. I too am tight in the AM... I have a liquid breakfast/protein drinks, and solids the rest of the day. I need to suppliment proteins anyway... can't "eat" enough proteins. Good luck.
  5. I would do soup or just drink, and claim going in for some medical testing, that requires food/fasting. ????? good luck.
  6. Maybe, Search for ticker help... sorry- but it took me forever... I have no better advice- I may get you more messed up with it. When banded my baby was 1.. lifting with legs/bent knees helped. The more they can do the better though. Helping them climb was better(or me) than picking them up for a while. Good luck and be careful.
  7. I have read JulieNYC threads, and she had a lower profile port placed during Plastic Surgery... she may be a person to seek experience with this issue from... hope this helped.
  8. Too many posts for quick viewing (dial up) -for example can get a thread locked... you should be able to find a new/started over- by different name usually. Maybe a search or browse through the Forum Jump? Good luck. Hope this helped.
  9. My fill/restriction fluxuates all month long. I try to not eat till feeling full.. sometimes waiting that long is too much. Good luck.
  10. My 2 cents... 6 weeks after surgery is for healing your band for a life time of use... This is not weight loss mode time! Mushie beans(refried) are good protein. Keep liquids low cal. and concentrate on health.. and healing, and getting in proteins. The weight loss success will come. Best wishes on your life long journey for health.
  11. Hollygurl.... liquids..... Variety was key for me. protein protein protein... hot, cold, thick, thin, sweet, salty everything.... Hot chocolate. from HWSupermarket is warm and wonderful. They have like 5+ flavors. I loved the soothing, thick, salty, egg drop soup - minus the bits of eggs. No slim fast for me thanks , but I still like atkins choc. delight... not too sweet. Shakers of protein fruit drinks (at HWSMarket too). No grit, and also aspertame free. And of course, don't forget about plain old water... the protein helped me fight hunger, didn't rid it completely, but helped. Hoping you hear great insurance news ASAP.
  12. Thank you to DH for the updates today.... hugs and big fat kisses from me!!! I'm sure he will get big, long kisses from LJM... just no more fat kisses! lol hugs to 4 year old DD too. Congratulations to to whole family! I am sooo excited for all. Continuing to think of you all, and send prayers for recovery too.
  13. I almost always stay out of "complications" section... why worry needlessly. Hopefully we will never need to deal with it, and if we do... see the doc! I would spend some time finding Protein suppliments, to tolerate for a couple weeks straight, and occasional use after surgery. Everyones tastes are very different! I love atkins advantage chocolate delight, NO SLIMFAST at all. hahahah Others are not the same. You may want to look in healthy weight supermarket while you are in town. Good luck. Sorry I'm not a "sewer", no idea for best places to find fabric.... yellow pages?
  14. FYI......... her DH is posting a new thread, I am watching closely.
  15. Thank you for posting.... keep it up! Thoughts and prayers going her way to keep her healthy and well. Painless and quick recovery with Max. results!
  16. Clap Clap Clap Clap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Hollygurl... any update you are willing to share? Sorry I am NO help with insurance:confused:-I have none! Good luck.
  18. Any news yet? Got my fingers crossed.
  19. Awesome Kathy! Michelle.... Insurance go to gal with Edwards would be MARY!!! She will help! Lauren.... I hope to see you at a meeting some time! Join right in here too! Keep us updated-- everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to the post 6 months support meeting... enjoyed it! But Wish there had been more people this time.
  20. Thoughts and prayers!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. For me I wanted to get info and check out the doc... after online checking. So I went to seminar- very informative!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 visit with coordinator, I went to 2 visits with doc/surgeon, 1 dieti/nutrition visit, 1 exercise consult, 1 day long behavioral class, and 1 psyc. evaluation. Insurance often requires more, and some docs require less.
  22. A few months ago my 2.6cc would have killed me... but with much loss I have 2.6 currently and seems great. Always changes, and every one is so different.
  23. I was self pay- that makes a huge diff. Seminar to surgery in <60 days. Seminar in Feb.2007 and surgery was 4-2-07. Submit everything they need, and stay on top of it! Good luck.
  24. Mine: Seminar to surgery was >70 days.... self pay.. some financing from capital one health care(cosmetics surgery)..... ask your docs office if they work with any financing.. sometimes they get deals for referring... I had a 1 year old(at the time), needed help 2 days post-op. Good luck.
  25. He has substance abuse issues, it has been a problem for a long time, but our DD is 2 now, and he is not doing any better. Always the lying and never the hard work. I did think me being healthier, and more attractive may help.... but it hasn't, and that is NOT why I had surgery either. I am better able to keep up with DD with 100 pounds less to haul around! lol
