  1. You are very right AJ. I felt the same why when I went into this. I knew if I cut all the things I loved I would never be able to stick to it long term. So I cut back on everything instead of cutting out. However, after 4 months stuck in the 190's I may need to do some more cutting.

  2. If you are able to eat in the morning special K has some breakfast sandwiches are are tasty. Also, Special K has high protein cereal (I love it). I also, like a whole grain waffle toasted with a smear of peanut butter and a half of a banana. Apples and PB are good for snack and breakfast.

  3. Good for you!! Start making healthy tasty stuff for your drivers. You will help your health and theirs. That is what I do at family pot lucks now. Also, drip hints of what you like now they will get it in time. My staff use to bring me M&M's all the time, now I get fruit or black coffee. When some ask why I changed- I said new taste or I'm getting older gotta watch things better.

Great job- keep up the good work.

  4. Yes, Dylan Disney was great, SeaWorld was AWESOME!! We walked ALOT, but it was good. Today I went for a nice long walk because my body was craving the movement, I was itchy to walk- how odd :) It was my first time there, the hubs went when he was a kid. I didn't always eat the right stuff, but at times I was just looking for something I could get down. However, I did not over indulge in at anything. I did have two alcoholic drinks (pinacolave), but that was it. I have tried to drink a lot today to flush my system and I haven't been able to eat much.

I went to one restaurant and the waiter said what I order would be fine it I wasn't to hungry when it came I promptly told him he lied. The hubs and I ended up sharing it. I guess he thought since I am still chunky I could eat a lot.

  5. It will be an up and down. I ALWAYS bounce in a 5 lbs range. Don't fret. So many things effect your weight. Do your measurements to, those change pretty fast to start with. Then sometimes those will change when the scale seems stuck.

Don't get discouraged, as long as you are following the directive the doctor and nutritionist gave you then you will be fine!

Like so many people say this is not a fast journey. Some lose faster than others, but what matters is losing.

  6. My doc told me the same thing last time I went. I was like seriously someone is telling me I need to eat more - WTH? My NUT said apple slices with PB is great. I buy the low sodium PB to help with salt intake. In the summer I like cantalope with laughing cow cream cheese wedge. I love applesauce and make my own so I can control what is in there.

Something the hubs and I love is zucchini chips. I slice the zucchini is thin slices (with my mandalin), toss in a little olive oil, and parm cheese - place on a cookie sheet and back till golden. These are addictive. The hubs who is anti veggie loves these. This also works to coat asparagas and string beans as a different way to fix them.

  7. Dylan it's all in the brand. I have found that depending on the brand and the cut I can wear anything from a 12 to a 16. So I have to try on. My 14 short I just bought I have to put a belt on with them. I could likely wear 12's. Got a pair of capri's that have elastic and are but a button and zip fly and they are 12's. Crazy, but I'm not complaining.

  8. Domika your symptoms sound a lot like how mine started out. I was always fine when I woke up, but by afternoon I was miserable. It took them 6 months to finally opt to do an ultrasound and found my gallbladder was stuffed full of stones. By the time they got me in surgery I had an infection in the gallbaldder and was running a high fever.

I was so happy when that thing was finally out of me. Didn't know how crappy I felt for a year or more until it was gone and I felt good again.

  9. Before I had my gallbladder out I had horrible pains and sickness. The two weeks before were aweful, basically I was sick all day every day and felt like I had a lump in my throat. I had mine removed Aug. 2011 before lapband in June 2012- best thing I did.

If nothing else go to your primary care and see if they will do an ultra sound of your gallbladder, if stones are present they can go ahead and schedule surgery to remove the gallbladder.

  10. Awesome!! All 4 of my fur babies are rescues. Chloe the Greyhound was rescued from the track- she is such a sweetheart!! Molly our Bassett German Shepard was about to be put done in a shelter. Macy and Rocky the cats were also rescue from kill shelters. Whenever we want to adopt a new pet I just can't go get one from a breeder, I want to get a pet love who hasn't ever had it before.

    I love my precious babies!!

  11. Awesome. If you have sleep apnea always use the CPap. Sleep apnea can be deadly. I use to do sleep studies to test for this and I had many patients scare me with how low their blood oxygen levels would get during the night- brain damage low.

Depending on the type of sleep apnea you have you may be able to come off of it once you loose the weight. Obstuctive apnea are often caused by weight.

    Good Luck to you!

  12. Are you getting the needed amount of water? Are you getting in your protein? These are very important to the weight loss process. Also, are you still taking vitamins? If not you may need to start, both B vitamins and D are nessasary to weight loss and if you aren't getting enough from your diet this could hinder the results.

Also, go see a nutritionist. I was banded 6/22/12 and have lost 50 lbs. To start with I was eating 1200-1300 calories and the weight was coming off. Now it has slowed to a stop. At my last visit I was told at this point I need to have only a 300-500 calorie deficit a day or my body would try to hold on to the weight. A NUT can look at what you are eating and doing and make suggestions that may get you moving again. As my doctor told me the most important thing on this journey is to try not and get discouraged and quit trying because sometimes out body is just going to plateau even if we are doing everything right.

Ride the wave my friend! Good Luck.

  13. I literally had to make a cacoon of sorts. I had 2 body pillows - one on each side and one pillow over my abdomen and two under my head and one under my knees. There was barely any room in the bed for my husband. But, this was the only way I could sleep for the first week and a half.

  14. I wasn't told not to eat popcorn and nuts, I was told not to for 6 months and after that they were fine. I eat a lot of almonds, cashews and pecans.

I make cheese lace "cookies" crackers- whatever you wanna call them and they are yummy and satisfy my taste for salty. I spray a cookie sheet with pam and sprinkle a little Colby jack cheese in a thin layer and bake for a few. They get crispy.

  15. Ok- here is the pychologist in me..... Anger is a secondary emotion and in this case I think the anger mostly stems from fear of the unknown or jelously.

Let me give you an example.... My BFF had gastric bypass in 2009 and lost 120 lbs in a year. After her weight loss she went to an orentation for a new job. (She is a nurse) The people in her group were discussing WLS patients. One of the guys in the group said "I can spot WLS patient a mile a way, they look horrible, all that hangin skin and sunk in eyes- I'd rather be fat". (the guy was obese) My friend ask, "well do you think anyone in this group has had WLS?" He said "no, everyone looks pretty normal" She smiled and said, "thanks, but I had WLS a year and half ago and have lost 120 lbs.". We figured this guy was just afraid of WLS, while he could benefit from it he was scared.

To each his own, but I like you wish people would just respect another person's choice.
