Gallbladder ?

I had sever gall bladder attacks before having my lapband. It sounds a lot like that. My daughter had hers removed prior to lapband, too. But many people experience gall bladder problems after losing a llot of weight. Good luck, the surgery is not too bad. My biggest problem was the surgeon missed a couple stones in my bile duct, and I had to go back into hospital for 3 days, because of pancreatitis. Be careful for jaundice! Also, is your urine colored. Mine was pretty red! Best wishes. Karen

Before I had my gallbladder out I had horrible pains and sickness. The two weeks before were aweful, basically I was sick all day every day and felt like I had a lump in my throat. I had mine removed Aug. 2011 before lapband in June 2012- best thing I did.

If nothing else go to your primary care and see if they will do an ultra sound of your gallbladder, if stones are present they can go ahead and schedule surgery to remove the gallbladder.

I'm waiting for the Scheduling Dept to call me back. They said I can't ear OR drink before getting the ultrasound. I don't mind the not eating. It's the no drinking I don't like... LOL ... I love my water! Anyway, it doesn't look like they can get me in until Friday at 9:30am. Waiting for final confirmation.

So, I've been having pain in my upper right side, under my rib cage, with back pain, and definitely gas (in the way of burping, thank God). But, it doesn't usually start until after I've eaten in the afternoon then through the evening. I don't wake up in pain though, so I feel good now.

So, if it is my gallbladder, perhaps I'm lucky in that it's not really bad right now. If it's not, I don't know what the heck is wrong. Quite frustrating waiting & not knowing. I am, however, going to see if they can peak at my lapband so I can see what it looks like. Hey, I might as well

Domika your symptoms sound a lot like how mine started out. I was always fine when I woke up, but by afternoon I was miserable. It took them 6 months to finally opt to do an ultrasound and found my gallbladder was stuffed full of stones. By the time they got me in surgery I had an infection in the gallbaldder and was running a high fever.

I was so happy when that thing was finally out of me. Didn't know how crappy I felt for a year or more until it was gone and I felt good again.

I had my gallbladder out a few months after my oldest son was born 38 years ago. I was told that when a shock happens to your body, the baby, other parts of the body change. Like the gallbladder would have had to be removed many years later but the baby made it happen sooner. Maybe the band had the same effect. I am not a medical professional but it sounds like the same thing.

Just got the news! Everything looks NORMAL! ? ! ? ! ?

So, that's the good news, right? So then, what's the discomfort I've been having? Is it my band somehow?

I have my 7 month check up (couldn't make the 6 month check up) on Monday, the 11th. So, I guess I'll see what, if anything they have to say. I might add that yesterday & today I had no pain.
