  1. Walking in really good; also, when you are sitting or lying just pump your ankles and do circles. That keeps the blood moving. (Like you'd do on an airplane.) You're doing great!!! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  2. I'm just a week post op. I couldn't make the requirements without 2 premier shakes and 3/4-1cup Greek yogurt per day. Eventually I will sub a shake for crab/shrimp/pulverized chicken or tuna. I have a great progressive diet booklet from my NUT. She says, for example, to food process the chicken with BBQ sauce. At your stage that'd be lunch with 4 wheat thin crackers. Maybe I can post the sample menu.... life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  3. I am one week post op and I could of used on in the grocery store today. I used my hand to apply pressure and that worked. I obveously don't know about discomfort at two weeks life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

Here's an idea that might help your blood sugars/hunger Breakfast: premier Snack: Greek yogurt (a good one: fage or chiobani) Lunch: Soup and cup of milk (or soup made with a cup of milk) Snack: v8 juice Dinner: chicken Snack: premier ...and the day came when the need to remain closed became more painful than opening -unknown

  7. Oh, when I get that too full discomfort, if I put my arms straight up in the air, it moves that gas up and then I burp. Heehee ...and the day came when the need to remain closed became more painful than opening -unknown
  8. I'm home! Surgery went really well. I have an abdominal hernia from my last c-section. My Dr considers hernia repair at the same time as bariatric surgery a "dirty procedure," so I will have this repaired in 3 months. She thinks I'll heal faster this way, also. As per my usual, my pain was poorly controlled the first night. By about four pm on the 26th, I bounced back. CO2 is disipated/absorbed. I took several laps down the hospital hall and had a shower! A doctor warned me, "hey, there's a speed limit down this hall." everyone was great. Very supportive teams. I stayed two nights because it took me that long to get consistently drinking fluids. I was ready to come home today, though. I took a 15 minute walk with my family tonight and ate an ounce of yogurt! The high life of a loser. I tell ya! I'm doing really well. In part thanks to your supportive words and positive thoughts. Going to watch the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics. x ...and the day came when the need to remain closed became more painful than opening -unknown

  11. I am hoping those of us getting sleeved tomorrow will check back in about progress, etc. (I'm mobile most of the time and I don't see many July sleevers posting updates, yet. IDk if I'm looking in the right place or not. I'm not on the FB group either. ) What time are you checking in tomorrow? I'm checking in at 6:30a for a 9:30 surgery! What are they gonna do with me for three hours? Lol I'm all showered with the antibacterial soap and sleeping in "fresh linens" but I'm not sure how much sleeping I'll be doing. The 24hour liquid diet was straight forward. No complaints. I am tired though! How are you guys? Getting some sleep? life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  12. They monitor sugars in surgery even if you're not diabetic because like pp said, the body responds to stress with glucose and cortisol, etc. A fasting/liquid diet will cause physical stress. Idk what this means for a diabetic, specifically. Simply that all people have the capacity to trspond this way. Just more information. No conclusions here. I hope they level out and you feel better soon. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  13. lol. I'm 5'2 and jogging at 4.0. lol 3.5 is a great pace when you're short. When I want to switch it up, I add 1% incline ever two minutes. I do the same on the way back down. I exercise 6 days a week. I am pre-op (until tomorrow)! Three days, at a minimum, but more like five with a minimum of a half hour once you're in your target heart rate. Listen to your body. If its tired and sore, rest. If its like, c'mon c'mon! Then get moving!!! Good luck. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

  16. Yes! Me me me Just had a half hour phone call with the short stay RN. liquids for the next 24 hours. My doctor considers yogurt a liquid! I was more nervous a week ago. I think maybe I'm misreading excited as nervous. We're gonna be fabulous! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
