  1. I might've figured it out. It was posting when mobile but not on the full site. I'm posting this mobile. Let's see.... life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  2. I cannot view/change/delete my current signature under settings. When I click on "signature" it shows my surgery ticker but not the quote that shows up every time I post. Please help! I'm ready to change it but I can't find it! Thank you
  3. Did everyone go to FB? I'm still "worried" about my privacy :-/ Several of July people who were posting consistently haven't been posting since surgery. I hope they're okay and I hope they did all go to FB. Lol. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  4. With surgery next Wed the 25th, I wish I would've made this connection sooner. I wasn't over-eating but not working as hard at cleaning up my diet. About a month ago I realized that I could've started at a lower surgery weight thus getting me closer to goal with the sleeve? I don't think I'm saying this as clearly as its in my head. Must be time to sleep. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  5. I have my final pre-op appointment. I have a couple of questions and I think I'm prepared with all the collective knowledge here; yet, I keep wondering g if I'm asking the most effective questions to help me manage next week. What kind of questions did you have at this last appointment? Anything you wish you'd asked pre-op? Thanks for the support! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  6. They might, but you're not. That kind if thinking is what happens when people, who are trained to find problems and solve them, can't. They start to look for other solutions that become a slippery slope. Listen to your body, your wisdom and persist. And trust your mother I'm hoping for a fast next step. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  7. I had a friend who went through this for far too long. Too many drugs. Missed a work promotion, etc. They even sent her for psych counseling. Finally she switched Gastro docs. The new doc did exploratory surgery and found adhesions on the outside of her stomach and intestine. These don't show up when you scope the inside! She'd had a car accident 2 years prior and had internal damage that went undiagnosed. Cleaned the adhesions and bam! No drugs, no pain, vomitting. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  8. Ah, the roller coaster if life. May good things continue to come your way. Happy almost surgery day! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  9. I'd go with hormones. I have a lot of thick hair and I lost handfuls of hair postpartum while breast feeding and then again when I stopped. I've never been vitamin/mineral deficient. Fat stores a lot of estrogen that gets released in weight loss. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  10. I really enjoyed watching the surgery and the surgeon interview. Is it just me or is the radiologist condesending? I felt myself reacting to him. Just want perspective. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  11. We get to recover while the Olympics are on!!! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

  13. That seems very familiar. I'm a wee bit impatient, too. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  14. I'm preop but my standing script order is for one prilosec two times a day. For three months. That should really help you. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  15. There are laws in every state as to how long a practitioner has to respond to a Release of Information. I agree with pp that you can call and make an appointment to review/copy your chart. That is with-in your rights. HIPPA isn't just a bunch of letters strung together. Sorry for the stress. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  16. I'm grateful to have some pre-op stuff to do next week (labs and a PA-C meeting). This sitting in neutral for two weeks might give me enough time to get nervous. Thankfully I've got a busy life with work and kids and summer fun! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  17. Watermelon is a natural diuretic. If you are concerned about dehydration you don't want to eat watermelon. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  18. I wonder how resting metabolic rate plays into stalling. (I am pre-op so only having a surgery stall. J/k. Lol) when the Dr tested my metabolic rate it came back that I burn thousands of calories at rest! I have a good metabolism if those tests are at all accurate. I kinda take it with a grain of salt, though. I'll be curious to see just what kind of looser I am. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
