  1. Most department stores have light control panties that should do the trick. Try a pair of several brands, see what works for you.
  2. I haven't really missed anything in particular. I have thought about a few favorites, but the thought passes quickly, and I'm good. I used to LOVE Lays chips (original in yellow bag, thank you) and I suppose I could have a few chips, but it's not worth it to me. I mentioned on another thread that I don't really enjoy food, not even old favorites. I eat because I have to, not because I enjoy it.
  3. It has been 2.5 months since my surgery, and I couldn't care less about food. It is something I need, not look foward to. This fact doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I consider it GREAT collateral damage!
  4. Umm, during a c-section, they cut across your stomach muscles. OUCH. The sleeve was a much easier recovery. Luckily, both result in a lovely outcome.
  5. Bingo! This is supposed to be the prime time for weight loss! Oy, vey...
  6. I can sympathize with you, livinglifeout. I can honestly say I HAVE been resisting temptation: no 'white foods' (rice, potatoes, flour, or added sugars). I read labels and watch carbs and sugars. Also, I am in week 5 of a 10-week boot camp . I go 4 days a week instead of 6 because of work and other obligations. All that, and I'm only down 38 pounds since July 3, 2012!!!! While I have lost numerous inches, and gone down approx. 3 clothing sizes, I am stuck in terms of weight loss. Soooo, I have decided to do a 2-week liquid Protein diet( and a protein bar/atkins bar. I need to chew something). I just want to jump-start the weight loss again. Good luck to you!
  7. At the rate I'm losing with my current stall...I'm thinking I should revise my goal to inches lost, instead of weight!
  8. (she could at Hedo....so I've been told!)
  9. 1. CLOTHES!!! I love nice things, and look foward to buying some beautiful things without hiking down to the basement in the PLUS section! 2. Have a huge party celebrating my new body. 3. Heels. High heels without killing my knees or my feet. 4. Crossing my legs. Comfortably. 5. Did I say CLOTHES??!!!
  10. Hell, get a couple of videos, and keep it moving at home, if need be. All you need are some weights, a resistance band, and some sneakers. Couple those exercises with walking (briskly), and you will see the results.
  11. As for feeling hunger...I have felt real hunger pains a few times (I am 2 months out). It is usually because I didn't eat dinner the night before, and I wake up ravenous. Some nights after my fitness class, I am tired and just can't deal with seeing what I can actually eat, so I settle for a piece of cheese of some melon, and call it a night. I wake up hungry. A few bites of an Atkins protein bar, solved the problem. I HAVE to do better.
  12. You are so right about being shocked by how little of something you can eat. A juicy, greasy hamburger was probably my favorite meal. Was. I bought sliders at the grocery store, and looked foward to them. UGH. Not god. Another food item off the list! To answer the original poster, I have eaten too quickly or taken too big a bite, and paid the price. Feels like the food is stuck in my esophagus. I now understand how this sleeve works...
  13. LMAO!!! I have this thought when I am in a stall, and feeling sorry for myself!
  14. I was one of the lucky ones...little to no pain after surgery. Never took meds once home. BUT, I have had 4 other stomach surgeries, and I was "owed" a smooth go this time! Seriously, everyone heals at a different pace. At about week 2, I thought I was perfectly healed. I went out to the store, and I was exhausted after 10 mins of walking. It was back to R&R for me! You'll be feeling fine in no time at all.
  15. Not dropping weight as I had imagined, but clothes are getting very loose!
  16. Some people love having someone fatter than them in their life...makes them look good. Your "friend" sounds jealous and petty. Lose her.
  17. GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH! know this sounds harsh, but this situation calls for a cold hard dose of reality. You are worth ore thatn what this realtionship/marriage is giving you. Please, no kids while you are in turmoil...children deserve so much more from their parents. Take this time to focus on yor health and weight loss. You cannot make/wish/will someone to love you.
  18. Pre-surgical weight: 284 Weight on day of surgery: 273 Date of surgery: July 3, 2012 Current weight: 249 Goal by Halloween: 225
  19. I LOVE THIS RESPONSE! Yes, this is a place for sharing, venting, questions, cheerleading, etc. But it is also a place for realistic responses and A-D-V-I-C-E. I agree we might all have a weak moment and eat a "bad" food. Then we get over it, and keep it moving. When you ASK FOR ADVICE...BE PREPARED FOR THE TRUTH! I, for one refuse to enable people here, and talk to them like they are children. We're adults who have made an adult decision to get healthy. Sorry, Nacho Cheese Doritos don't qualify as a healthy alternative. BTW: I want to see those chaps! LMAO!!!!
  20. I am 52, and sleeved on July 3rd, 2012. I came through the surgery with flying colors. Didn't even get my pain meds filled for home. I have had 2 c-sections, a triple hernia repair, and a hysterectomy. This paled in comparison in terms of pain, and healing. The biggest adjustment after surgery was learning what I could eat without the food getting "stuck". I am very active, and in the middle of a 10-week boot camp. Down 33 lbs, and feeling good as my clothes get bigger. I just have to learn the art of patience, and be happy with what I have lost so far, and NOT obsessing over the scale. (yeah, right!).
  21. Ahhh, the mattress dent...I know it well. And the sweater or jacket with EVERY outfit.
  22. PEOPLE ACTUALLY SAY THAT TO YOU??
