Foods I Will Miss
greasy cheeseburger and fries! I have had a slider minus the bread...no longer appetizing for me. I have also had a few fries at a ballgame. Again...the thrill is gone.

Special K Protein Drinks ?
They are ok, but not enough protein to make a difference. In my opinion.

What's Worse?
I wasn't a fat child, and during my teen years, I was always active in sports and dance lessons. While I wasn't fat then, I was usually the biggest girl in class..."healthy". During college, I lived with six girls who were all smaller than me. I still wasnt fat, but what you would now call "thick"...curvy. I was married 2 years after graduating, and I went to hell in a handbasket! I was a stay-at-home wife and mother, cooking 3 meals a day, and no longer exercising. I think I was fooling myself into believing I wasn't THAT big...but I was. I thought because I had really nice clothes, and looked neat and clean, I wasn't that bad. What a lie. I did the Optifast liquid diet about the same time Oprah did, lost 50 lbs, and gained it back within a few months. Just 5 years ago, I lost bout 45lbs, looked great, and I was so happy. Fast foward to March-2012 when I went to my first surgical consultation, I was at a whopping 284lbs! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN? HOW DID IT HAPPEN? To answer the original question, I am looking foward to a skinnier version of me, and while I am beyond excited about the future, I have a hard time picturing me in smaller clothing sizes. The smallest size I can recall is a 14 while in college. Before then, I don't know. Since my July 3rd surgery, I have lost 40 or so pounds. I say or so because I am in a nasty stall, then gain the same 2-3lbs back...depending on what scale I am using! ALL of my friends are smaller than me. Trust me, none of them need to lose weight to catch up with my slimming frame! Like another poster above, I have a pretty decent self image, have great friends, and an active social life, so I don't have any head issues holding me back. While I am unsure what the final outcome will be, I know I will stare in every mirror in wonder!!!

Did You Name Your Sleeve?
Not to be a spoil sport, but I never understood naming inanimate objects or body parts.

Getting Anxiety About Upcoming Holidays
Lucky for me, I hate Thanksgiving, and most of the foods associated with it! ANyway, you THINK you will pig-out, but trust me, overeat once or twice, and you won't do it again! Our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. You can't eat volumes of food anymore. Have a bite or 2 of what is on your plate, and keep it movings! If anyone comments on your eating pattern, just tell them the truth, that you have decided to get healthy, and no longer eat large portions. If they keep asking questions, ignore them!

Slow Loser
I would be happy with 10lbs a month.

Slow Loser
I am in the same place. I really am trying to be more upbeat about this whole thing. Trying not to compare myself to others. But sometimes...

July Sleevers----Where Ya At? :-)
I was 273@ surgery, and at 5'4", I am now 243/240...depending on what scale I want to believe! While I am excited about the 30lb weight loss, I thought it would be more (Oh, I was sleeved July 3rd). I have however, lost lots of inches, and given away LOTS of clothes. Like you, I have been experiencing a protracted stall. Even with consistent, strenuous exercise at a boot camp...these pounds are so stubborn! I actually think I am not eating enough, and I know my Protein intake is not up to par. Good luck to us all!

The Scale Finally Moved! :d
Isn't amazing how good it feels when that damned scale finally moves again?!!

My Favorite Thing About Wls...and My Least Favorite Thing. Join In!
Favorite: The weight loss, seeing my clothes get looser and looser! Least favorite: The stalls! Also, remembering to eat, and drink enough. Amazing.

Grrrr Stupid Jeans
Interesting. I am losing weight (as per the scale) very slowly, BUT have lost lots of inches, and clothes...especially pants, are hanging off me. WTH?! So it seems like a case of "six of one, half dozen of the other"! ~mom~

How Much You've Lost
I understand what you are saying, and I have said the same thing to others. Sometimes, the frustration takes hold, and the pity party begins. I am grateful fro the 30lbs, and the inches lost. But boy, it is so damn hard to come here and read how someone has lost 3x the weight you have in the same amount of time! Yes, I am happy for those who have dropped lost of pounds, and on their way to goal. It is inspiring. But am am flawed enough to admit to being a teensy bit jealous! I am starting a 2-week Protein diet (and one food meal) to hopefully get out of this one month stall. Congrats to all the losers!

How Much You've Lost
How much have I lost???? NOT ENOUGH!!! In approximately 2.5 months, I have lost a whopping (sarcasm) 30lbs from my surgical weight. Yeah, I've lost a lot of inches, and getting rid of lots of too-big clothes. But what about the pounds???

Any Good Recipes For Chocolate Protein Powder?
I add black decaf coffee for that mocha flavor. Makes the protein drink palatable

What Food Do You Miss?
I used to eat Chinese food like it was my job! Since I was sleeved (7/3) I had a bit of broccoli with steamed chicken. It tasted good, but very filling. I haven't had any since.

Didnt Think I Would Feel So Hungry!
It isn't unusual to experience hunger pangs. More than likely, the hunger will go away once you try to eat, and you realize, you can only choke down a few bites!

Working Out
JUST DO IT! I know that sounds so cliche, but its true. I totally understand your apprehensions. Hold your head high, wear a great outfit, and just start. Maybe you can join a place and go midday when there are perhaps more women to make you feel better. (although, some of our sex are not so nice). People MIGHT turn their heads to check out the new girl, but after a while, no one will care. Especially the guys...they are too busy checking themselves out in the mirror to be concerned with you! Good luck!

What Are You Feeding Your Family This Week?
My husband has a crazy work and tennis schedule, so he doesn't have dinner home too often (thank god!) My "kids" are adults now The oldest is living on her own. The youngest lives home, and was sleeved a month before me. Soooo, what to fix for others is a non-issue. I like some of the suggestions LouiseC had!

All Food Feels Like It Its Stuck In My Throat And Chest
I was sleeved July 3rd, and I used to think the world was ending. The pain was THAT bad! It felt like every bite was stuck. I swore I would never eat or drink ever again. Thankfully, it passes. When? I am guessing it is different for everyone. In the meantime...Good luck!
