Pre-Op Liquid Diet In A Business Meeting? Hmmmmm
I've been thinking about the same thing. I travel locally to my client's offices and we frequently have lunch meetings. I hoping for soup but as a last resort, just maybe eating a little salad with perhaps a slice of turkey - no carbs and keep it very lean. No salad dressing. I was also concerned about something I heard about being on the pre-op diet...um.. to be careful about bathroom breaks. Liquids go in, Liquids come out. Don't wait until the last minute and never (i'm sorry if this is tmi) trust a fart. I am taking this advice to heart because the last thing I want is an issue when I'm in with clients.

My Story Pre-Op Through 5 Days Post-Op I Hope This Will Help Some Pre-Sleevers Out There
I am glad you are feeling so well. Was it hard to adjust to 1/4 cup? I'm guessing it's a gradual thing since you are on liquids for so long and your tummy is sore. I hope I feel 1/4 cup is great too I actually start the pre-op diet on 9/10. I'm a computer consultant and I travel locally to my client's offices. I'm hoping to work remotely more once I start this journey just to avoid any unpleasant 'accidents'

My Story Pre-Op Through 5 Days Post-Op I Hope This Will Help Some Pre-Sleevers Out There
Ugh, I read you were in a stall.... I'm sure it will be short lived. How are you feeling otherwise? Are you able to tolerate food and liquids well?

My Story Pre-Op Through 5 Days Post-Op I Hope This Will Help Some Pre-Sleevers Out There
Sherry77, thanks for posting your experience! My date with Dr. Rantis is 9/24 at Alexian. I go through bouts of anxiety about this but I know this is the best thing for me. I am a big baby but your summary of the day really helps. I hope you are doing well.

So Frustrated With Scheduling!
Well, after 5 phone calls today from the coordinator, 2 hospitals, my date is confirmed for 9\24! They think at 9:30 am but that could change. At least I have the date. The hospital called to preregister me so hoping it is real this time.

So Frustrated With Scheduling!
Wow what a rollercoaster ride! I would hate that. You spend time getting over your fears to the point where you really look forward to the journey and then because some person decides to change their mind, make a mistake or not follow through, your life is put on hold. Ok, nothing but happy thoughts for the rest of the day. KZBen, keep your chin up too. We will be on the losers bench before you know it.

So Frustrated With Scheduling!
Sorry - I went on a big rant about scheduling then figured it probably wasn't in my best interest to post it but I couldn't figure out a way to delete it so I just put an x in the info after editing it. Sufice to say that there's an issue with my surgery date and I'm going to wait a few days so they can figure out a new date and time at the correct hospital.

11 Months Out
I am pre-op and your post was exactly what I needed to hear! My main issue is quantity and my other issue to a lesser degree is carbs, specifically breads. I am so happy that you are doing so well!

Peanut Butter?
Has anyone had more heartburn/reflux from the peanut butter? I am pre-op still but when I eat PB it aggravates my reflux. I'm hoping this will change after...or at least not get worse

Gastritis Question
Thank you! That is so helpful. I hope your complications have eased up and you are doing well!

Gastritis Question
I have gastritis - not the h. Pylori kind - mine is from eating wrong (surprise surprise) and taking too many Aleves, etc. Has anyone had complications with having the sleeve done while having gastritis? I searched the forumns but didn't find anything on this specific issue. Read posts where they developed it later but none prior to surgery. Thanks!

Having A Hard Time Emotionally
Hang in there! I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm sure I will go through the same feelings. A friend of mine has gone through the surgery - as well as many other on this site - and she assures me that before long you will be feeling better - especially when you are finished with your liquids only portion. You can do it!! Get a good night's sleep - everything is always better in the morning.

Pre-Op Nutrition Appt....hide The Scale!
I also had my pre-op dietary appointment today. Went pretty good especially since I didn't know what to expect. My homework is to cut down then out caffiene, slow down my eating and plan my meals. She will submit my paperwork back to the coordinator at my doctor's office and they will submit the paperwork to my insurance company. So I guess I could have an approval within the next 2 or 3 weeks!

Surgery Today!
Good Luck - I'm sure you will do great. Keep us posted on your progress!

Questions For Pre-Op Dietary Meeting
I am going to my Pre-op Dietary appointment on Wednesday. This is my last hurdle so my insurance information can be submitted for approval. I would like to get the most out of this meeting so I am putting together a list of questions. Since I don't know quite what to expect, my questions are focused on protein, types of protein, pre-op diet itself. Is there anything else I should be asking? Thanks for your help!

What Do You Wish You Had Done Differently?
\ Good Question - I am very interested in hearing this also. I will be starting preop in the very near future.

Surgery Tomorrow! Yeah! The Day Is Finally Here!
Good Luck! I haven't been sleeved yet but I should be getting my date soon. I can't wait hear how you are doing!!

Loose Skin?!?!
Great information. I have been worrying about lose skin also but had never heard of brushing your skin. So I'm wondering if I should do lotion at night and then brushing in the morning or do the brushing before applying lotion? I am looking forward to hearing about people's results. I'm going to do more research and if I find anything helpful, I'll post it.

Down 110 At 5Months Post Op!
So awesome! Thanks for sharing. I'm still preop but I'm slowly going from scared/anxious to excited/anxious

Good Cereal
That's great to see. I'm still preop but I'm a cereal person and was actually mourning the thought of not having it again. I'm just going to work on embracing the 'honeymoon' period and changing my habits before things get back to my new normal. I's encouraging to see that we don't have to give up anything (but soda) and truly eat in moderation.
