  1. Good luck!! Since my fill 4 weeks ago, I am the same weight. My pants fit better but I have major muffin top. Exercise like a mad person.

As much as I HATE exercise I am going to get off my can and do it, and keep doing it. I have a muffing top too...icky thing just won't go away. We'll win the battle though :)

  2. Great post!

I do the comparison thing too, when I read that someone has lost 50+lbs. in 3-4 months I think "what??? why not me??" then I look at the amount of weight they started with and it never fails, it's more than where I was pre-op.

Thanks for sharing, we all need those little reminders.

  3. As far as I know sometimes we lose inches instead of weight and as weird as it sounds thats actually normal, kind of frustrating in a weird kind of way because if our clothes fit better well then whats the problem right? but I guess or at least for me I want to see the numbers. What i'm about to do is buy myself a tape measure and see how many inches I lose that way I know if I'm making any kind of progress when that happens =)

I agree, we all lose differently. I seem to lose weight quicker than inches...I don't exercise enough, and I know it.

  4. Job well done, congratulations

I've got fifty more pounds to go before i see the 200 marker on the scale.

I've heard that once you reach that 200lb mark the idea of "onderland" dances before you and can be elusive for some but we will all eventually get there.

How are you doing besides the weight? are you nearing the end of the plus size department and venturing into the regular sized store? Can you see more of your bone structure and muscle? How loose are your clothes getting?

    again good work

icestorm- I am between a 16 and 14 in the Plus sizes, I carry my weight around my mid section, if it wasn't for that I would be a 14.

My clothes are getting very loose, and I've done a lot of purging of Fall and Winter clothes I had from last year, when I got them out I knew they would not fit and it was fun trying them on and seeing how big they were on me now!

    You'll get there too!

  5. Hi Dawn!

I didn't drink anything after my fill yesterday, I felt full so we'll see what today is like.

So far I've had a cup of coffee and felt fine, I'm on liquids until this afternoon so I'll have a shake in a little while and see how I do. This is exciting, getting that first fill is a milestone :)

  6. Sweet...I am set for the 31st. Had my labs done yesterday and started the liquid diet, too. Not a huge fan of that, but I am keeping my eyes on the prize!

We can do this, right??? And be our best selves. Forever!

    --Kim

I did almost two weeks of liquids post-op. Straining regular low-sodium soups helped, I was so tired of Broths. Also, as I'm sure you've read here already, Popsicles are wonderfully yummy when all you can have are liquids.

    We WILL do this Kim!!

  7. Sounds like you're starting to get the hamg of it all. Congrats on the 18 lbs. I can't wait to be banded. Just did pre-op labs, chest x-ray, and ekg, last weigh in in the a.m. Keep up the good work sissy12........... ;)

    Thanks!

You're on your way too, time really flies once you get your date :)

  8. I had the horrible gas pain as well, after the first week I switched to chewable Gas-X and it worked better for me, I just made sure to chew the heck out of them.

Good luck, and keep posting and keeping us updated on your progress.

    • Don't worry... I think we all have had that same feeling.. I know I did..had surgery on 5/25 and everything went fine.. recovery was ok.. getting used to your new eating habits will be the only adjustment... stay strong and remeber that your not alone...

Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to being done with surgery and on to my new improved life :)

  9. Isn't it weird how people react to needles so differently? I feel like you are of the norm and I, who is only comfortable while watching the needle go into my arm and watching it come out, am the weird one. Good luck in two weeks!

OMG I can't watch! no way no how and no one can make me look!! LOL!!

  10. I had a similar thought today. I was in a clothing store and as I passed by the misses sizes, I had to stop and look at the clothes, I picked up a cute dress size 10 and it looked teeny tiny! I just stood there staring...even thinking of a size 14 is daunting.

I'm looking forward to reading others input on this also.

  11. Congratulations on the decision to be positive! I agree with you...I am not telling everyone about my surgery just those closest to me. I intend to tell them I exercise and eat right...should they ask. It will be the truth too. I am glad you are going forward despite having a big family event afterwards...good luck to you!

I think it's wise of you, and it will be the truth, there is no magic wand...we have to work at it. The weight loss will be obvious, but so will the positive lifestyle changes :)

I'm looking forward to this journey.

    Good luck to you too!!

  12. Definitely think about who you want to tell. I made the mistake of telling too many people. I feel like people watch me now when I'm around them and I'm eating. It's annoying. Just think about it.

    Dee,

I agree, I can totally see certain people watching every bite and every sip...I'm keeping it to myself and a small group of family and very close friends.
