First Fill

I'm 11 weeks post-op and had my first fill today.

I think the timimg was perfect as I was getting a little grumpy about having lost ONLY 26lbs. Hearing my Doctor tell me that I am on target with the loss and even past his expectations so far, really helped me.

I think we all play the comparison game, we know or read about someone who has lost more weight in the same amount of time and it bothers us, at least that's how I feel some days.

26 lbs. lost in 11 weeks, no fill at surgery and no fill until today...not too shabby I say.

I need to remember that I have lost a lot of weight, that if it wasn't for my band and my hard work I would still be carrying around a toddler.

Gastric Sleeve Patients

Congrats on your first fill. I am 6 weeks post op and had my first fill today. I was talking to my surgeon about this forum and telling him it was interesting seeing how every doctor and patient is different. He said well, it is a great forum for support; however, for the medical aspect people need to trust in the team they are working with. I wholeheartedly agree. Your doctor knows you, your circumstances, etc. the best and is the best person to let you know if you are on track or not, etc.

Did you notice any difference with the fill?

LAP-BAND Patients

Hi Dawn!

I didn't drink anything after my fill yesterday, I felt full so we'll see what today is like.

So far I've had a cup of coffee and felt fine, I'm on liquids until this afternoon so I'll have a shake in a little while and see how I do. This is exciting, getting that first fill is a milestone :)
