Boogie Size...
I found this one under google images. these are some of the sizes and u can see the actual diameter of each. My doc used a 36fr.

Last Meal Before Surgey?
I had sushi the night before my surgery. I takes roughly 6 hours to empty ur stomach (unless u have gastroperesis) and since there is no rerouting of the intestines like in the bypass surgeries it should be okay. this is one of the reasons they say nothing by mouth after midnight. To give u that minimum of 6 hrs for stomach emptying. However I wouldn't go completely crazy eating and follow ur docs instructions!

Morphine
U can request other things such as demerol or even the lortab elixir for pain control if the morphine is making u itch. benadryl will make the itching stop but is gonna knock u out.

How Can You Tell When Youre Full?
At one month out, I get this sudden fullness feeling followed by a cramping sensation if I do the one bite too many. This is one of the things that makes u learn to eat slowly so that u give your stomach time to tell u it is full.

Is It Normal To B Hungry Every 2-3 Hrs?
Oh thank goodness! Some days I feel like I am eating constantly yet still hungry at 1 month out. Glad to hear there is a light at the end of this tunnel!

Photos Of Your Removed Stomach
I work in the OR so I asked my friends to record the surgery for me. This is a picture of the removed part of the stomach on the right. The left is the staple line along the bougie inside.

Exercise App
I wanted an app that could help me determine how many calories i was burning and keep track of the distance I was walking every time. I found Jog Tracker app and it tracks me using GPS and shows me my walk route plus time, cal/min distance and total calories burned. This allows me to input my time into mfp. Oh and its a free app! Just wanted to share in case someone else was looking for something like this as well.

How To Work This Fitness Pal App
click on add to diary and do a search for the food u are eating or simply scan the barcode from the package. It will automatically load the nutritional contents. Sometimes u may have to adjust the amount of the product it found for u to accomodate the amount u ate. U can also record ur weight in it and any comments u wish to make. I am amr2393 so if u want u can look me up and view how I am doing mine as an example.

What You Wish You Had Known About The Sleeve
To take ample time off from work because of the extreme fatigue from surgery. To take their supplements as directed To find a support group be it online or in meetings because they will have additional questions To not compare their weight loss to ur peers. Each person is different. How hormonally it can be during ur weight loss To not stock up on certain foods because ur tastes will probably change post surgery

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....
Slime is when u eat something ur stomach is not ready for so the esophagus and stomach go into overdrive making excess mucous to help move it along. Sometimes u throw it up from the nausea u also feel.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....
Things I wish I had known before surgery: I would be cold all the time I would be praying not to sneeze or cough for the first 2 weeks after surgery Watching a really funny movie 2 days after surgery hurts like hell That all hunger is not gone and head hunger is worse than true hunger That I would have so much gas That I would have loud embarrassing noises coming from my stomach And wth is this slime!!!

I've Never Even Been On A Cruise....
Well the good thing is that there is always lots of choices so u can nibble on a variety. This is kinda my opinion about Vegas too. Before I used to plan out all the different buffets I wanted to try. Now I know it would only be a waste of money.

Restless Leg Syndrome
Just a thought too... I thought I had RLS only to find out that my calcium levels were really low. Also if I wasn't too good at taking all my calcium pills that day, that night I have that involuntary muscle cramping/spasms to contend with.

What Is It Really Like When You Wake Up After Surgery?
I remember joking around with my coworkers on the OR bed and then getting hit with the fentanyl and the instant warm feeling all over and next thing I remembered was my PACU nurse telling me she gave me pain medicine and was it helping and only shaking my head no. Then I heard her asked my doc if she could change it to Morphine and that helped. I remember trying to open my eyes but couldn't see because of the lubricant they put in ur eyes when ur put to sleep. She used a warm cloth to help clear them and then my doc put his hand on my shoulder (I remember it was a cold hand!) and telling me I did great. Next thing I know I was being rolled into my room. I do remember having a really dry burning throat and asking for ice chips. I used my pain pump and asked for zofran which made most of the discomfort diminish. I was up and walking around 4 hrs after surgery with help and independently 8hrs post op. I also remember that the warm beef broth they gave me for dinner that night was the best thing ever!

I Need A May 1St Buddy! Im Feeling Depressed!
Awe hon u are being too hard on yourself. Look at the positive, u lost 32lbs already! That's awesome. I am May 1st and yes in the last week the weight loss has slowed down. So I think its a bit normal at this point. U need to get out and do things to make urself feel better about urself. Like it has been recommended go get a massage or something u like to do. Also, try taking a walk. Don't worry about how long or how far or how fast. Just walk. We are here for u and are proud of u!

Scared Of Operation
What I tell all my patients before rolling back to the OR is that they took a bigger risk getting in the car to come to the hospital than u will with the surgery. Unless u have numerous comorbidities and u already are in a dire condition, surgery is relatively safe. And trust me when I say that this is a very simple surgery being done. I have literally been in close to 500 of these surgeries and only two of my patients had to be sent to ICU and those patients already had several major issues going on. U will be fine, no need to fret.

Anestesia Tube Damanged My Thoat Pretty Badly
I have participated in numerous anesthesia inductions and I don't think that is from the tube or bougie. Unless you were a difficult induction and a "fasttrack" had to be used, the tube will not do all that damage. I would recommend a strep culture be done and request some antibiotics.

74 Days Post Op...ok To Drink Alcohol
Wow, I was cleared for alcohol two weeks post op. But I gotta tell ya that first sip of alcohol it felt like my entire sleeve was on fire. That's when I knew that perhaps I needed a little more time before going there again.

Very Tired & Low Energy - 10 Days Post-Op
I am approx. 4 weeks post op and had this happen to me starting in week two. When I felt this tired, i went outside and walked. It was hard being so tired but once I actually started walking my body woke up and before I know it I had walked 2.5 miles. Then I couldn't sleep until 11:30pm If at work, get up and walk around even if just for a little bit and see if getting moving helps. I admit some days I just couldn't get myself out the door but on the days I did, I felt so much better afterwards.
