  1. I've tried to click on my ticker and it takes me to the main forum page. Then I went to my profile and tried to edit the ticker then I deleted it. Now I can't even log in from my computer. It will only let me log in from Facebook or twitter. I don't want to log in using those because my friends and followers can then see that I'm on vertical sleeve talk. What the heck did I do wrong?
  2. Heee, heee, I'm off to have a peddicure as well. I don't want them to say "look at the hooves on this one".
  3. OMG! You are so funny! Last year I lost 40 pounds and I noticed the loose skin on my upper thighs and kind of freaked out because I have always had tight skin. Now when I lose weight I'm going to look for the "Bulldog".
  4. I followed my Pre oP protein drinks for 5 day. Then I was at a management retreat and I could not tell my co workers why I was drinking protein drinks. I ate no carbs until the last night when I had bread and pasta. I am on the second day of my clear liquids and I'm doing ok. I still worry my liver won't be small enough. I actually dreamt last night that my hubby made a huge carb loaded dinner knowing I was on clear liquids and didn't say anything when I chowed down.
  5. Good morning! How is everyone doing on their clears today? I wanted to check in and ask how does one update their ticker? I am having a heck of a time.
  6. Did anyone have problems sticking to their pre-op diet and cheat eating carbs or anyone with a lower BMI (35-36) that didn't have do do a week or two of protein shakes? I'm worred my liver won't be shrunk enough and my surgery will be cancelled.
  7. I have to say thank you everyone for support. It is surreal for me that I'm having surgery next week. Thetrudream: I'm having surgery 6/25 with Dr Garcia. I've been experimenting with shake recipes got my post op diet.
  8. Can anyone tell me about their different pre-op diets? I hear different ones, 1-3 week of shakes with a protein and salad then 2-3 days of clear liquids. I'm wondering. My surgical directions said 7-14 day protein shakes and 3 day clears.
  9. I was wondering the same thing. I'm signed up for a 250 mike bike ride for charity in September. My surgery is 6/25 I'm worried I will not be able to take in enough water and fuel for that long of a ride. Any advice or stories?
  10. I have to say I was a little confused about the coordinator and websites. I looked through Obesity Solutions International and wanted to use Dr Garcia. Sandy contacted me initially and gave me information. I paid a deposit and had more questions. Then I was contacted by Zach who answered more questions but in between I was also contacted by jenese so I was getting double answers. Lately I have only been receiving emails from janese when I have questions. She lives in Southetn California but sent me a complete run down of phone numbers and what to expect and who to call. I know it sounds crazy but I'm looking forward to 5 days away from my stressful job and crazy family.
  11. M just so frustrated and needed to hear from someone if they have experienced it. My surgery is 6/25 with Dr Garcia in TJ. I have not told anyone except my spouse. My work thinks I'm having GYN surgery. Today I told my best fried who was horrified. She is about 5'5 and 300 lbs. I thought she would be supportive but all she could say was how losing weight won't make me happy and it isn't safe to have surgery in Mexico where I could die. She thinks TJ is a @hithole. Mg hubby was watching cooking channels today while my tummy was grumbling on my shakes and broth. Totally clueless. U don't expect him to support me either when I get home because he wasn't there to take care of me through two c sections, spinal surgery or our child in the hospital. I guess what I'm asking is how do other people deal with this nonsense?
  12. I'm confused. Some people are on pre op diets for quite awhile. Some are on one 3 to 7 days. My instructions said 7-14 days. I have surgery on the 25th and am supposed to have 3 shakes a day and salad and protein for dinner. I ate cooked veggies tonight instead of salad. Not looking forward to my final 3 days of clears.
  13. How many incisions? I'm hearing 5 small holes yet I've seen some pics where there is a larger incision in the middle of the tummy with a drain.
  14. I scared and excited. Yesterday I hit up Walmart for all my Vitamins and bought a small personal blender with an attached cup as well as purchased my Syntrax Protein drinks online. I received my passport. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what I'm to do to myself, mainly removing 80 percent if my stomach, what am I going to feel when I wake up and am I going to have some of the problems that I read about such as inability to swallow much Water or stomach spasms. I'm hoping my anxiety will go away.
  15. I have my surgery on the 25th as well. I'm starting my pre-op on Monday the 11th. It's just getting so close now I can't believe how time has flown by. Both excited and scared.
  16. Is anyone here having surgery by Dr Garcia on June 25th?
  17. I have a sleeve date of June 25th. I am a volume eater. I grew up going without food on a regular basis and frequently eat out if boredom or just because something else yummy is around. I know why I do it, I'm just going to have a hard time controlling it. The thought of getting queasy, sick, or vomit because I eat to fast or too much actually appeals to me. Sounds sick huh? I really need this WL tool.
  18. I'm envious if the people that have lots of time off. I have to go back a week after surgery. I have a desk job so I hope I'm not pooped out.
  19. Wishes: you look beautiful in your picture. As for my chin I have always viewed myself as I looked like 10 years ago. Call it a weird that I couldn't see a fat girl in the mirror. When I got my passport photo I could really see my chins. I look forward to them disappearing.
  20. Denalisa who is doing your surgery? I'm having mine done with Dr Garcia.
  21. Hi there. I'm having surgery on the same day. I too have been reading lots of information and thoroughly read the information packet they sent. I saw somewhere on this forum that they take you in the morni h of your surgery for your pre-op labs and EKG.
  22. K33, it has been my experience that antidepressants do cause some weight gain but not all of them. Depression can also be a chemical imbalance such as bipolar. Antidepressants help the chemical imbalance in the brain. I can tell you from experience that depression can be present when you are skinny or fat. I suffered for year with untreated depression when I was skinny and finally was diagnosed and put on medication that really helped me. Not sure of any research but I plan on staying on meds with probably the same dose after my VSG. To me it is much better than being depressed. I know this probably didn't answer your question but I feel for you.
