  1. Looking Aheadyou aren't whiny over your pain I thank God or the support of our sleeve sisters and brothers on this site because we can share what we are going through and maybe get some advice or support. With that said, maybe you have walked a little too much or have been too active. Who knows. I know today I walked around to the movies and visited a nursery looking at roses and now one of my incisions is burning from the inside. Just rest and take care of yourself. Take pain Meds if you are still on them and keep us posted. Take care.
  2. I stat my full liquid tomorrow. I was excited to find flavored instant grits at the store. Weird what makes you happy now huh?
  3. I was exhausted from the hospital because I dd t sleep well in their bed. I slept and rested when I came home. I had very little energy. I am post op 6 days and today is better than yesterday. No pain, can sip my powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken /protein broth and even shopped a little at Target. That said I still listen to my body. Came home and rested after my shirt trip. Rest up, get your fluids in and you will start feeling better. I promise )
  4. So my post op instruction were to wash my incision with soap and water and cover if oozing or moist. WTH? I have 3 incision (one a drain hole). Two of my incisions were sutured shut. My drain hole was left open to heal from the inside out. I feel kind of weird not covering it with a bandaid or gauze yet the other two incisions actually started healing better once I took off the bandaids. Anybody have this problem or am I the only one skeeved out by my drain hole?
  5. I had been thinking about a tatoo as well. When I had my tummy tuck a few years back, I had a vine and flowers with butterflies tatooed over the scar. I was looking at my incisions and drain scar that will be forming and thought of adding more butterflies and flowers. Nothing like a little body art.
  6. Sorry you are feeling so bad. I think it varies with everyone and their doctor. I'm 44 and was sleeved 5 days ago. My drain was removed two days later. I walked alot so maybe that helped. I hope you feel better soon and get that drain out. I know when I had previous abdominal surgery I had a drain in for a week and I swear it made me hurt worse.
  7. I haven't been sleeved very long but it is weird for me to when I have no appetite. My hubby is worried about cooking around me and I'm like, cook all you want. It doesn't appeal to me. Yesterday I didn't have any protein broth until night and had the worst low blood sugar headache before I went to bed. I had to take some Tylenol.
  8. I agree with Dorrie. I would go back to some shakes that you can make yummy with some Torani syrup, perhaps a little bit of fruit and yogurt and blend really well with some ice in it to make your shake not so boring. I would try a protein powder that isn't low carb to see if that helps. I hope you feel better soon.
  9. Thank you. I was worried I had Montezuma's revenge after having my surgery in Mexico.
  10. Ok sorry to be so blunt on a delicate topic. I am 4days post op and have diarrhea with everything, broth, juice, Popsicles, chicken protein broth. Ha anyone else experienced this? How long does it last?
  11. God bless you.
  12. I paid 5000 with Dr Garcia through Obesity Solutions International.
  13. I do not knwo what your doctor allow but mine did not want me to take anything the morning of surgery unless it was for blood pressure. My guess is they don't want anything in your stomach when they operate. I was off of my medication for one day. They give your ice chips and sips of gatorade the day after surgery so I was able to take my medication then.
  14. So I have been in Mexico since Monday and am 3 days post op. I feel great and was walking around the Walmart today to buy some essentials. The funny thing that I experience is in the hotel Marriot. I needed some tampax and pads. I went to the gift shop and they sell the pad individually wrapped. I declined and bought the whole bag of 14 for 17.50! I was desperate. That was why I went to Walmart, I need tampons. I went back to the gift shop to buy Tylenol for the headache I have had for 2 days. I bought 2 pills from the bottle for 2.80 If you are preparing to have surgery in Mexico and are staying at the Marriot, be prepared. Other than that, they have great service, speak English and have super comfy beds with lots of soft pillows.
  15. Thank you for your guidance. I will just avoid it altogether and have water or gatorade today.
  16. OMG, truly a blessing for you to have pursued weight loss surgery to have found the cancer. I pray that it has not spread anywhere else and that you recover soon.
  17. I know we are not supposed to have caffeine such as a cup of coffee. What about a cup of orange and cinnamon flavored black tea 3 days post op?
  18. I had great care but that particular nurse wasn't in my room much
  19. I have to say it is weird having a 1/4 of a popsicle and being full. I feel gassy and keep walking but nothing passing today. Maybe if I lie in bed and put my knees up, that helped before. Last night I had a dream that I had a couple of bites of a hamburger and was full. Weird huh?
  20. Dorrie I think I was dehydrated in the hospital believe it or not. My head felt like it was going to split wide open. I noticed my IV bag had the same amount of fluid all day. Change of shift nurse came in and I pointed that out. She checked and my IV was clamped. I hadn't received any fluid for about 8 hours and nothing to drink because I wasn't on ice chips yet. She opened my IV wide and I got a full bag rather quickly and started eating some ice chips then Gatorade. The headache lessened.
  21. That is good to know. I went to bed with a headache but it seems to be gone this morning.
  22. Thanks, maybe I'm sipping slower than I thought.
  23. I followed my pre op diet for 5 days then cheated and ate a regular meal. I was very strict with my 3 days of clears before surgery though and I had one bout of nausea immediately after I had surgery and was walking the hallway. Other than that no nausea and almost zero pain.
