  8. I'm leaning toward taking five days off and work half days for five so I wont be too worn out it seems to take between 4-10 days to start. Feeling normal again
  9. loved your introduction can't wait to read your Blogs I think I am in for a treat I am excited for you I dont submit until the end of next month( a couple more appts) I would love to get approved and have surgery in July but right now I am just focusing on "I'd love to get approved". lately Ive seen a lot of denials posted so I am getting really nervous I lose weight pretty good to a point and then I don't go any further give up...depression...eat more... that is my cycle I would just love a little help and I feel that band can do it so hopefully my insurance company agrees... nice to meet you keep us posted
  10. Joyce sorry to hear your experience was so bad but sounds like you have someone now that is going to take good care of you if he was just in it for the money he would have just done the sleeve(more money) instead of try to work with what was already done sounds like a good DR. I applaud you on getting back on that horse it's very easy to get stuck feeling sorry for ourselves and stay right there. remember it took a awhile for the weight to creep up and sometimes you need to just let it slowly melt off. you will give your body time to adjust and possible prevent(or reduce) sagging skin so trust your DR but if you focus on your diet I'm use the 2 lb/week will go up. I haven't been banded yet I am hoping for Aug but this is some of the stuff my nutritionist was mentioning about weight loss Good Luck to you and God bless
  11. sorry to hear that your are experiencing a lot of pain I 've read some people do and some don't I have also read that each day gets a little less so hang in there rest and take your meds and try to get up as much as you can I hope you feel better soon
  12. wonderful post Ronnivee very helpful for those of us that are preaapring to get to where you are thank you and I am glad you are doing so well if you work outside the home would you tell me how many days you took off? I'm hoping to only use 5DYS? how did you feel by dys 5? Were you able to sit for a long period? I work at a desk job and the summer is the hardest time to take extended time off.
  13. the LA times reported it as the clinics that are associated with 1-800-Get-thin clinics and ad campaigns are not reporting the risks so Allergan(lap-band) is no longer selling it to those clinics & the FDAwants to see how often these complications actually happen to make sure everyone is warning patients of all the risk its due to the 5 patients that died of the clinic that made national news I don't think the FDA will find any higher rate of complications then already published I feel those patients died due to carelessness of their surgeon( one had a lacerated liver and they sent her home)
  14. Way to go I know you will do great congrats on the surgery date
  15. what did they list as the reason for denial?
  16. this prayer warrior is sending prayers up right now I know everything will work out well and you will recovery wonderfully Keep us posted on how you are and God bless
  17. Hi Okie I'm a OKIe too from Lawton. I am not banded yet hoping to have surgery early August I still have my Psych eval on the 2nd Jul, final appt with my Dr 19JUL then submitting to my insurance. Good luck to you
  18. If you don't cope with pain very well tell your Dr they will get you meds to help you cope. I am sure no one wants you to suffer . Just remember to take them When I had surgery in the past I was so sleepy I went to bed and when I woke up the meds from the surgery had worn off and my body reminded me very quickly that I had just had surgery I know you will do extremely well nothing to worry about your just take a nap wake up and it's done. good Luck
  19. Good luck to you sounds like you have a smart doctor especially since you've been losing all this time(congrats on the 24lb down) your liver IS shrinking(smile) I'm not up to that point yet but my Dr has said I can have 2-3 protein shakes and one low carb/low fat meal total caloric intake 800-1200 daily I still have my mental eval and then I have to wait to se what insurance says so I am thinking I will have surgery early August. So keep me posted on how you are doing take care and God bless
