I have decided its time to get off this diet rollercoaster and get on to a lifestyle change. I am ready and my first step is to get this lapband put into place and use it to help me better myself. I first talked to my PCP May 14th, 2012 about needing help losing this weight because its certainly apparant I was not too successful doing it on my own. He said He wanted me to read a book and come back in 3 weeks. I did and during that 3 week period I also investigated the lapband as I had done a few times in the past but this time I was seriously considering it. I went back to my PCP on June 4th, 2012 and we discussed diet and exercise and my lack of ability to move without emmense pain and I told him I had really been considering lap band and about all the diets I attempted and how I know that I can do it but I feel I need the lapband to give me the restriction. I feel its the missing piece of the puzzle for me to succeed at weight loss and I had already gone to a seminar at this Dr. Office. He said he had heard me talk about all the diet attempts and failures and believes that the lapband is the appropriate next step for me and he would be happy to write a letter of reccomendation to my insurance as well as refer me to a Dr. he trusts to do the procedure. I happily agreed but also decided to keep on this diet he advised me to do, 1200 cal/day and no white foods such as flours, sugars, etc. Good thing to because it turns out I need 6 months of dieting under a Drs. care for my insurance to accept me for bariatric surgery. So I am set up to go to another seminar through this other Dr. and go from there. I will try to keep this updated as I go through the steps to get banded.
