  1. I had/have IIH. It's improved since surgery. Less headaches& my ocular pressure went down. I feel for you guys about the diamox--I vomited all day, couldn't stand up. Terrible.
  2. Sleeved 11/16. I've lost 65 total& 46lbs since surgery.
  3. I see a lot of patients with GBP & lapband return with problems. Bypass patients have anemia, nutritional deficits, hair loss, fistulas, bowel obstructions etc. I'm not a sweets person either, so I didn't think I need dumping as a negative reinforcement. Lapband? Omg. I know a lot of people with it. They survive on Cheetos. They can't tolerate eating normal or healthy food like chicken & broccoli. Plus they are starving in that lower stomach that never gets full, not to mention an implantable device that needs replacing, could slip, or harm your stomach. No one i know had lost even close to their goal weight& were thinkjng about getting it out. I nearly paid $18000 for it a few years ago, so glad I didn't. When I started researching the sleeve it seemed great. I'm an overeater, mostly pasta. I met someone with the sleeve & they didn't look ill & had lost all of her excess weight, the opposite of the bypass or lapband. The sleeve gives me restriction & a lack of hunger which is what I needed to lose weight.
  4. Oh no that's my sis. She's literally have my size, preoperatively anyway.
  5. So unfair& traumatic for the dog& u guys!!! How can they take back a dog. I got mine on Monday from a foster & they wanted $250 in cash. Sounded totally sketchy so I said check & a receipt or no deal. Still think they might try taking her away& they haven't given me vet records. Lola:
  6. Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission. Your friends are probably a lil jel right now. I don't really understand people who comment on intimate parts of another person's anatomy (well at least not a negative comment, I congratulate '&say nice A** a lot). This is a hard time. We're here for you& we get it. Having your body change drastically is hard-mentally& emotionally. Focus on the positive aspects of your at loss. You feel better right? More energy? Less risk of debilitating diseases? Some shallow people are noticing you now? Let them admire you.
  7. I sautéed semi-firm cubes with store bought tikka masala sauce.
  8. I'm down 60lbs total. From 245 to 185lbs sleeved 11/16. Still fighting relapse. I'm a carnie not a Barbie.
  9. I try to stay under 75. My multivitamin, calcium& fiber gummies equal about 30& then I have fruits& veggies& a low carb bread product like Hungry girl flat bread ( for a mini pizza) or a slice of toast.
  10. What helps me is finding a reasonable substitute or just avoiding carbs all together. Eat your protein 1st.
  11. I think I need to tighten my belt. I eat 800 cal & under 70 total carbs. My supplements add about 30carbs a day&then I eat some vegetables with meals.
  12. Yum! Tried it right now! W/Chike choco powder!
  13. I get the pick 2 at RL--the stuffed flounder&crab legs. I eat the crab & take home the flounder. It's hard for me to go to OG-I crave pasta. There's a mixed grill that looks ok nutrition wise. At Outback, the lump crab tilapia is amazing!!!all are low carb& high protein.
  14. Wishing u all the best& a speedy recovery!
  15. COMPETING FOR ABSORPTION There are a number of vitamin-mineral and mineral-mineral interactions that can cause problems for those who take high-dose supplements. Vitamin C can inhibit copper absorption, and too much copper can lead to vitamin C deficiency. Zinc inhibits both copper and iron; magnesium, copper, iron and calcium all compete for absorption, so too much of one can lead to low blood levels of the others.
  16. I take Opurity multivitamin which is the only 1 per day bariatric Vitamin I know of. Its ok. (See pic) its the most complete that I've found& only one a day is a lot easier. Celebrate says take 2 mvi's per day. A lot of gummy & chewables mvi's do NOT have Iron. I don't meet my iron requirement thru eating even if I have steak. Certain cereals are fortified with enough iron but too many carbs for me. If u are low on iron (chronic anemia), had blood loss in surgery, or a woman who menstruates you likely need the iron. I also take Fiber gummies& tums (not with my mvi because you can't do calcium& iron at the same time).
  17. Sleeved 11/16. Down 38lbs post op. I started at 226lbs. What are everyone's starting points? I'm stalled&i feel like I'm failing.
  18. I've been wanting to do an outline. Just have someone trace you on some poster paper. U can do side& front. It really shows your shape& how big u used to be. Anyone remember that Alfred Hitchcock show where he walks into the outline of himself in profile? That's where I got the idea from. I also take a monthly picture.
  19. Sleeved: 11/16/12, wt 226lbs Now 2/1/13: stuck at 191lbs I want to break my stall. I meet my Water goals, added Fiber, do elliptical 40 min 2-4x a week. Sometimes I get up to 70carbs. I get 45 to 60g Protein. I just can't seem to lose. Everyone else am seems to dump weight off. I eat out 2 -3x per week. I try to pick wisely. I eat mostly pizza toppings or Chinese food or Indian when out with friends. I ate 1/3 hardee's low carb burger. Tore me up inside. I ate 1/4 of a cupcake on my bday. I keep having weird pains on my L or R after i eat. Pork kills me. Maube my gallbladder is dying. I regurgitated back into my mouth after eating 1 chicken drumstick. Otherwise I'm on the wagon. I just want to lose. To the lady who throws up most things& can't take Vitamins, I think u should see your doctor& get an upper endo& labs done ASAP.
  20. I use the generic target brand of fiber gummies. I think it was $8 for 90gummies.
  21. Well at least u had a mastiff to keep u company. I'd love to have a dog.
  22. Mag citrate. Senokot&MOM. Suppository? But increasing Fiber is better than training your system to rely on laxatives. Fiber gummies or chewable. I lace my crystal light with fiber powder. Wish you all the best!
