1. I experienced the same thing.they are threatened and don't want to have to step their game up to keep up. But it always got me wondering why they were competing with me in the first place.... didn't they know I was fabulous from the get-go, so there's no point in competing. Lol
2. I told a few of Co workers ( two of which had WLS) and close family and a few friends, certainly not everyone I know. I did share it with two people that are over weight and workout like I do, I thought would be understanding and they were totally rude. They changed their time when i made it clear the decision had been made and that i was just sharing. My BMI was almost 40.
3. Congrats. I was banded 5 days after you. I've lost 10 pounds.
4. I was banded on 4/23 I am on purees also. to get past the desire to chew, I chew on ice from sonic. They are small and crunchy. Also, my basic menu has consisted of baked potato Soup from Panera Bread and egg drop soup. I started incorporating watered down mashed potatoes and super milky oatmeal. I'm worried about the stuck feeling too but I guess I won't learn more about limits until I start eating solids. Good luck
5. I'm having a wonderful recovery. I drink a couple of 32Oz glasses of Water a day and leave it at that. I'm cutting calories on my fitness pal but that's because I've always counted. I'm counting now to make sure I get enough but I'm only about to get on about 400 calories a day. I'm walking a mile a day. And I'm still on purees but I added mashed potatoes, and my normal egg drop Soup and baked potato soup plus a Protein shake. when I get hungry it's only after not eating for like 4 hours. I have the Allergan lap band.
6. Wow those weight losses are great. Do you mind if I ask what your starting weight was?
Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools
7. I already drank protein shakes before my surgery so it's not bad for me. But since I have to drink so many more since the surgery I'm finding that the pre-mixed shakes are so much creamier and better. Almost like a treat. I have been using the cookies and cream monster milk
8. What's everyone having to eat so far? I'm on week two purees. I've been living off of egg drop soup, baked potato soup and protein shakes. When having soup I can only get about two or three ounces down then I stop. I'm about to try very very watery mashed potatoes. I do miss chewing but I just chew ice when I get that way. I'm 8 days in and 8.5 pounds down. 41.5 pounds left to go!

11. I'm seven days post op and I didn't feel anything like that.
12. I thought the largest incision was where the port was. That's the only one that still hurts.
13. The area around my port is pretty much the only part that is still sore. i hadnt tested the areas before but i just pressed the areas around the other incisions lightly and they dont hurt at all. they are starting to itch.
14. i love protein shakes. i was drinking them and fresh juiced vegetable juice even before the surgery. i think thats been the only thing that has saved me. I dont have any bruising but i did take the bandages off too soon. i just realized that today. 44 pounds to go for me. I cant wait to incorporate excersize. altho they did say not to get too sweaty the first two weeks
15. I have just been taking liquid tylenol for the pain since Wed morning. I am considering wearing a binder on my tummy when i go back to work as my incisions only hurt when i walk and my belly jiggles i used to suck it in pretty good when i walked lol but cant do that for the time being.
16. Thats funny. Im almost the exact opposite. i do miss the chewing sensation thats why im chewing ice. but Im almost relieved that i dont have to constantly make food choices which can be bad or good. I used to wake up and my first thought was what am i going to eat and then plan the rest of my day according to what i was going to eat and what time. Now im not hungry for the time being and I just have to remind myself to get my fluids and protein in. Ive lost 4.5 pounds. Im on day 6 now
17. I was told I could walk and do the stairstepper as soon as i feel comfortable but no core exercises, running, swimming, abs and such for 6 weeks.Im ready to start exercising too. Ive lost 4.5 pounds and im on day 6 post op

19. Whats weird about the burping ive noticed is that i can burp easier if i lean forward. Im still having someone pat my back a few times a day to help with the residual gas trapped inside thought. I have been chewing small ice chips like sonic ice. thats definitely helping me get my Water in.
20. Im still not feeling hunger. This is day 5. Im tired of the protein shakes and jello. So today i treated myself with some egg drop soup minus the floating pieces of egg. which arent too entirely bad i dont think but i was told to stay on clear liquids for a week and i have no interest in messing this up. I am still kind of in disbelief that Im actually banded. I might actually be thin one day after all my hard work and working out pays off in conjunction with this. I must say i dreamed about gorging on chips and salsa night before last haha.
21. i was banded on 4/23 also. I only experience the tightness when i gulp instead of sip. I havent experienced any hunger yet. I have been nibbling on jello all day and i have 2 ounces of broth periodically. I stopped taking the pain meds days ago, it appears im allergic to them. i got hives all on my abdomen. Im only taking liquid tylenol now. I was only nauseated on day one. maybe this is TMI but i havent had a bowel movement since ive been home. that worries me
22. day 4 here. harder for me to get water in. Im having jello and broth mostly
