So Here Goes..my Intro.

Hi everyone, I hope im doing this right. I've decided to join and get some support. I had lapband surgery on 4-18,and I have lost 11 pounds since the surgery. I started with a physician (not the surgeon) weight loss program for three months as directed by my insurance company. I lost about 10 pounds on it. After the three months, I went to see the surgeon, Dr. John Baker, prior to my surgery date. He put me on protein shakes for two weeks prior to the surgery and I lost 15 pounds. The day befor surgery, I did clear liquids and lost a few more pounds, so i'm looking at about a 30 lb loss since February. It was recommended that I have gastric bypass for the amount of weight I have to lose, but I was totally against it. These past 12 days have been interesting. My core has been especially tender, but im walking 40 minutes per day as the doctor instructed. I am on sugar free, fat free full liquids. On Thursday I can advance to soft diet and I am excited. I am almost ready to come off of my BP meds ALREADY!!!!!!

Yay!

That is fantastic. I am also down 30 pounds, although I don't feel any different yet.

I know my profile shows male but I'm all girl, lol. I need to go in and put a pic up. Anyway, Congrats on your all's weight loss. I am still in the process of making the appt with the surgeon and I have my Psych Eval on Wed of this week. I asked if I could possibly have my surgery by June and the nurse coordinator said absolutely. No 6 month diet prior to surgery here because my BMI is 52, I know wow huh? I am 5'2" and weigh 285, I can't wait to have surgery and get this weight off. I do have to do the 2 week prior to surgery protein shakes and if I remember correctly 2 weeks after liquids too like you. I am so ready to start this weight loss journey. I have been overweight since 17 and I'm 46, I of course put the weight on gradually during my married years, boy if I knew then what I know now! Well hopefully I can let you all know how this KY girl is doing in the coming months and I can report back with good news of surgery date soon. Good luck to you guys on your weight loss journey.

Welcome, and congrats to newcomers to our board and to their new lives!!
