  1. I'm with you cindysmom. I guess it's all in perspective.
  2. True results here. I'm scheduled for next Thursday. That will put me 4 weeks out. I stopped losing as soon as I started on mushy food. I am not starving but I can eat probably more than I should, not that I do though.
  3. I had that reaction at first too, but then I realized I share this home with another person that hasn't chosen to alter their body.
  4. I had a hiatal hernia repair. I'm going to chalk it up to that since it's lessening the longer I go.
  5. I wondered that too. My largest incision hurts the most
  6. I have that too! To me It kinda feels like a stitch or a cramp in your side you get from running. But it must hurts when I breath deep. I'm 3 and a half weeks post op.
  7. I am 3 and a half weeks. I kinda get this pain on my left side like if I have a side crap from running too much. That only happens occasionally, I'm guessing that's the port site. I have the most tenderness on my center incision, the largest one. Hopefully that goes away. That scar also kinda dips in feels harder. thoughts?
  8. I had my surgery at 7:30am and I was home by noon. I wish I could've stayed overnight because I could've billed my aflac. Haha
  9. I have three dogs, they are each under 10 pounds. I didn't havea problem with them but I also don't walk them since we have a backyard and I had someone here catering to me for 7 days. I must say if I was alone I might've forgotten to let them out since I was napping so much
  10. I am only three weeks post op so I clearly recall my recovery. almost the entire week after surgery I stayed lying down and napping. I walked once a day and towards the end of the week I was able to go to a movie but the car ride alone was complete misery. I was also allergic to the pain meds so I wasn't on any after day 2. but everyone heals differently. Good luck.
  11. Yeah, I had a hernia repair and band. They charged my insurance $49,000. I paid $5500 cash for the actual band. all you can do is call the insurance and ask what your final Co insurance responsibility is
  12. I was banded on 4/23 my first fill is scheduled for 5/24
  13. I was banded on 4/23 my first fill is scheduled for 5/24
  14. My lower scars healed faster. My upper and larger scars are darker. I'm wearing the "genie" bra to avoid any underwire rubbing. I don't usually show my stomach off anyway but I'm pretty vain. I plan on using mederma later too
  15. I am 16 days post op. I lost 11 pounds now a pound and a half crept back. I started doing cardio today instead of just waking a mile and a half a day so hopefully that helps. I was at 500 calories a day when I was losing. I'm finally able to get about 1000 calories in and now I'm stalled. I'm not worried about it because I'm just glad I'm not gaining at the rate I was before surgery. feel free to add me on myfitnesspal user id kdo090578
  16. I must say since starting on the mushy/softer food stage I have definitely been able to up my calories. I thought I would always struggle to even get 500 in. I guess that's part of the healing process.
  17. I don't have health issues and as some would say I "only" had 50 pounds to lose, but after struggling with diets likeQuick weight loss (twice) Atkins, hcg, phentermine, lipo dissolve shots, lipo laser, the metabolic effect you name it!! I saw a personal trainer twice a day for two years and I've run three half marathons. I'm far from lazy. I simply have a problem with occasional portion control that ruins the work I do on my good days. Nothing about this alteration scared me. Gaining weight at the rate I was gaining is what scared me.
  18. Another thing that sucks about having told people is that now they are constantly asking me how much weight I've lost. I've only lost ten pounds. I still have 40 to go. it's a process.
  19. what does a day of foods consist of for you? I am kind of lost at what to add. I've been having pretty much the same thing all week.
  20. I also keep track of the volume I consume as it is necessary when inputting any food in my tracking app. it's all I can do to get the 500 calories as it is right now since I do feel like I'm still healing. I suspect once I move on to soft food or solid I won't have a problem increasing that. I was generally at 1200 prior to surgery so when they told me I would have to"start" only having 1200 that was kind of confusing but I didn't argue.
  21. I don't know where I came up with the 2Oz serving. But it's perfect for now. I only get hungry if I don't eat for more than 5 hours.
  22. I feel like I'm probably not consuming enough after reading this thread. I'm having a protein shake for breakfast, 2 Oz of baked potato soup for lunch and I just started adding in one soft scrambled egg for dinner, before that I was having two Oz of egg drop soup for dinner. Maybe one sugar free jello a day. I'm down 10.5 pounds in 11 days. 39 pounds to go.
  23. I'm 10 days post op. I've always counted calories, carbs and fast grams. I'm at a little under 500 a day. I don't really experience hunger unless I haven't eaten for over five hours.
