Sex
I'm confused about your question. Do you mean for the first time or something? Or the day of surgery? Or with this person before you lose weight? I apologize I don't get what you're asking...

Will Throwing Up Make Band Slip?
No. I don't know about throwing up over and over again but my friends that are already banded I've seen through up a couple of times (almost every time we go out to eat at least one of them does) and they are both still having great success. Can you try something to help you feel less ick though? There's something fenu something that helps I've heard? Sorry you don't feel well, hope it gets better soon.

Stop Askiing How Much Wieght I Lost
This is why I'm afraid to tell anyone. Ugh I'm so sorry. I don't know why people think our weight is their business... I don't ask people about their sex lives, their weight lives, what they ate, when they went to the dr. last, etc. I know they think they're helping but as you stated they are not! Can you tell them that? Can you help them see it through your eyes? Can you lie ? Why don't you have any fills yet, has it just not been long enough? Would it help to remember all the reasons you did this in the first place? I am sorry you're feeling discouraged... hang in there if you can!

What Are You Most Looking Forward To?
Other than losing the weight after being banded I mean? Like for me, I can't wait until it doesn't hurt my feet when I get out of the bed in the mornings. And I can't wait to ride on a roller coaster and have the lap bar close the right way. What about you???

Would Love A Buddy
I think you'll be glad... I know I am. For me after the seminar (I went to many, multiple places before I decided) then I had the consult and since I was self pay at my consult they let me pick my date - soonest was about 3 weeks out, I put it off about 5 just due to when I could take vacation. I have my pre op diet class and start this neext week, another consult the week after and then one final meeting with surgeon just a couple days before surgery. Sounds like you'll soon be on your way!

Eating Like A Bird
It IS going to dip there - don't give up. I know it's hard but please please try not to compare yourself to anyone else's loss - some of those had liquid diets (myself) and I think that is a big part of the loss but there's so much to compare also - maybe they were heavier so they lost faster? Maybe the only lived on liquid? Give it some time and give yourself a break if you can... I know that's hard. And be sure to post when you DO get there because I know you will .

Buyers Remorse?
Ashley I believe you can and you WILL!

Anyone Still Doing Atkins Ir Southbeach??!!
LOL I felt the same way - I drink milk like it's going out of style. When I first started paleo I felt like crap too, probably just withdrawal. I'm currently trying to live an 80% lifestyle and it's worked ok. I know the band will help with it even more and I think life isn't life without something we love, I just need to learn to have less of it . Atkins might be a great fit for you!

Depressed
I just read something similar in the forum and I'm starting to think this is common - you're feelings are very valid. We've all probably got unhealthy relationships with food and just think, now that's gone from you. In the past maybe you (like me) turned to food for comfort? And you can't do that. Is there something else you could find to cheer yourself up? Get a manicure, go for a gorgeous walk, watch a comedy show? Don't give up and also allow yourself to feel - there are stages to grief so there have to be something like that for letting og of something we love like food. I'm sorry you're hurting. Hang in there.

Anyone Still Doing Atkins Ir Southbeach??!!
I'm not doing one of thsoe BUT if you haven't heard of it you might check out the paleo diet (caveman diet) whcih is similar to the zone diet. I plan to continue that one after my lap band surgery and I have found more success with paleo than anything I've tried. Pretty restrictive but some great websites out there and it's basically protein, fruits, veggies. I liked it a little better than atkins or southbeach because you get more fruits and veggies BUT no dairy. Just an idea. Good luck!!

Approved Today!!!
I haven't been banded yet but I did want to answer your question (my surgery date is June 29th). Where did you get the ideas for your goals? I don't mean that rudely, I'm curious. Did you look into gastric bypass or what makes you chose the numbers/time frame you do? I ask because I went to many seminars and studied for a good year before I chose this route. I am deliberately doing the band because I've had friends/family do both and those that banded lost a LOT slower BUT seem to have way less saggy skin and after a few years they are nearly the same as the bypassers. Did they talk about that in your seminars? I too would love to be 100 lbs lighter in a year (my secret never really allow myself to say it or think it goal) but at the same time I know that's probably not really likely and even if it is, that's about 2 poudns a week which would be 8 pounds a month. I just worry you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you don't meet your goal or some illness or bad habits if you do. I find all the success stories on this site very encouraging and I like looking at those that are a few years out and many have lost more than 100 lbs or half their weight and I think they sound like they're doing great. I hope things work out well for you and that you have an end result that pleases you. As to the original poster Tricia - congrats!!

One Month Post Op But Very Minimal Weight Loss
I like that you said that. I own one but I DO NOT let myself weigh myself more than once a month. If you look and feel good it doesn't matter as much what you weigh, right?
