Caffeine?
I was advised by my nutritionist to keep it to one cup of day nit for erosion but dehydration. It suppresses my appetite but...I use fattening creamer!!!! So defeats the purpose. But this is the one thing I will keep...I have to be to work by 6:30 am so I enjoy that first part of morning when I sip my creamer with coffee. I need to find a good fat free sugar free one...haven't yet.

Confused About Proper Restriction Level
I remember being at a 3cc fill and as much as I wanted to eat lots of things, I stuck to the foods on my list. But I really didn't start understanding what restriction felt like until about 4cc. Now that I'm at 5.75 cc I realize how important chewing a lot, small bites, and taking my time means. It's crucial and also important that I make every bite count with Protein and veggies. Good luck in journey:)

Finally!!!!
Had a very small 1/4 cc added fill, and my weight is dropping...went from 185 to 180!!!!!! Im sure the 3 day full liquids is making that look great, but it is a jumpstart mentally. My chest looks smaller and I'm feeling great. Feeling less hungry between meals and my meals are substantially smaller, getting about a half cup just this week. I think this just might b the green zone.

Confused About Proper Restriction Level
This is one thing I will focus on is to eat no more than a cup, so far only a half three days after this most current fill of 1/4cc doesn't quite put me at 6cc but real close.

Tightness
With this most recent fill on Wednesday, I am actually tight in evening. Can't get 1/2c food in yet, still should stay with soft but I tried to eat home made chili...belched up a little slime (sorry too much info) but it scared me. I'm ok now... But I think I shall stop til I feel better. If this tightness stays in evening this might be good for me.

To Fill... Or Not To Fill ???
Yep I was just there! Felt like grazing and eating faster between meal times. Very slow weight loss but high intensity exercising. So I wasn't sure if that's why I was getting hungrier! So, I did just get my 10 band adjusted from 5.5 to 1/4cc more. I think this may be the magic move to jump start my weight loss, three days of full liquids. Don't want to throw up or slime, that's just too much restriction. This is a tough time, this band like a toddler at times!!!

My Conservative Fill
So, in this journey I decided at this long awaited appointment, I would just want a 1/4cc fill. My next fill in October. I"m ready to ease into regular food ( fill was Wednesday). My surgeon thinks I could be close to zone but nay need small adjustment in next month or so. He may be right. I just don't want to be so restricted that my body doesn't take food like some on these forums. I definitely know I will have to take smaller bites and more chews. Not quite to a 6cc yet, but close. I'll see how the next few days fair for me with this adjustment. anyone going through this issue or fear of being too tight or not enough? I have option to go back before my vacation on Tuesday. Time will tell in solid food tomorrow for sure.

Question
Had fill today. Mine: 3 days full liquids.

After Fill
My surgeon says to stay on full liquids for three days then to regular foods. I just got a fill 1/4cc so I'm at 5 3/4 cc restriction in 10cc band. This full liquid gets the tummy calm to heal after adjustment. I was given a paper to follow.

What Kind Of Job Do You Have?
I'm a Director of a childcare center/preschool with 18 staff and 90 children 4 weeks to 5 years. I'm pretty interactive with the children and staff. But not too physically demanding besides lifting kiddos. I took one week off and worked three half days. I took it slow the first month and did not concern myself with weight loss but more healing and following the eating plan.

After Fill
My surgeon suggests no food or liquid five hours before fill. Then full liquids for a total of three days. I begin to have a hearty Soup on that third evening meal. It gives my stomach time to get used to adjustment and messing with stomach....but it also jump starts my weight loss.

Feeling Discouraged..
I have also played the slow race...this turtle has lost 84 pounds...size 24-26 Pre-surgery and I'm now just creeping into a size 12. I was banded Dec 21, 2010. I do have insurance and I chose to go slower with small fills. My last fill was in April. My next fill is on August 1st... I'm currently at 5.5cc. My surgeon really listens to me and helps me understand the red zone/green zone, and with that, he has hesitated on my last fill, for which I am glad he did not fill me. It takes a good surgeon to listen, assess, and make decisions based on my words, feelings, signals, etc. this time I know he will fill me. I'm not concerned about restriction. I do want to be able to eat my cup of food without getting hungry until my next meal.

What Was The Final Straw To Help You Make Your Decision?
Final straw, having to hold on to bed edge when waking up because my feet hurt so bad from working all day on them and getting off the floor after working with preschool children...I waddled.

Is Anyone Else Out There Struggling?
Most importantly is to eat that Protein and veggies first. Make sure you ate getting 60 Grams protein which helps with hunger issues. Look for cool sugar free recipes. I don't deny myself something if I crave it but just know your journey may be slower. I go through dips where I eat healthy and have slip ups, this is called life...but I am really trying to make a healthy choice because I know it will benefit me:) good luck, I have about 30-35 pounds to goal.

Period And The Lapband
Same extreme tired recently. I will make sure my Iron intake is good, make sure you are taking your Vitamins. I get so sleepy. I also up my Protein, and my band fills tighter probably Water retention. It seems to be more pronounced since surgery. I try to take an early morning walk if I don't workout ( I change my workouts a bit to help with tiredness and of course I try a late afternoon catnap)

Read Me, I Need Success Stories.
I'm not there yet only lost 83 pounds. But only? Hey I'm pretty proud that I took off 10 years of weight in 15 months.. We just have to remember that this is a journey that may take more time than we wish for. It also will take more time to change lifetime habits we have acquired. We can do this band people!!!! Our support, positive encouragement, advisement of best practices of lapband are crucial for our success!! Moving our bodies and changing our lifestyle will make a difference...I'm pusing for that 100 pounds off!

Condiments
Prefer? Sorry confused. I prefer Marzettis pomegranate vinaigrette dressing on salad with spinach leaves, pecans, a few dried cranberries, and low fat feta cheese crumbles. This is almost duplicate of the Wendy's chicken salad. I love this!!!!

Grumbly Tummy
First, how post op are you and have you had a fill? Are you getting your Protein in? Chewing carefully and small bites? You may need to check with your doctor or nutritionist to get help. Sounds like you are physically hungry. I know my tummy makes crazy sounds at times:)
