  1. Thanks I added you thx u!
  2. Yes I'm not even drinking as much Water lately. I'll try the special k in water too:) thx
  3. Thank you so much. I love my fitness pal font know how to use it other than working on my diary and exercise. Haven't added any persons. But I sure like the way it tracks anything! I'm going to go with 1,000 calories and really focus on Protein.
  4. Know that some don't count calories and some do. I am working harder to get to goal with exercising and eating one cup per meal. What kind of calories are you eating if you do count them. I have not up until about two weeks ago. I can't seem to get more than 1,000. But my fitness pal says eating too low...what to do? Just add Protein shakes?
  5. I get small belches but maybe this is from sealing air or too big bites..not sure anyone else?
  6. I had a fill 1/4cc last Tuesday. Was fine going to Vegas but once I got there we were in hot sun and 110 degrees but by the pool a lot. Had a rough time with food. Mostly had soup, yogurt, hummus and a few soft items from whole foods salad bar. These mysterious bands!!!! And our crazy bodies!
  7. I don't think dumping syndrome happens with band but I could be wrong. Your body has gone through major surgery, anesthesia, and you have been on liquid. Good luck and remember this is a journey. You may not feel a lot different until your fills. Just stay informed and follow the rules:)
  8. I am a quantity eater and my surgeon and I felt this would be the best surgery for me. My sister has Barrett's esophagus and was unable to get the band. I'm glad I chose this. My other sis had gastric about 10 years ago. She's over weight again.
  9. Banded 12/21/11 from 267 to now at 179. Size 24 down to an almost 12 ... Some 14s. I have enjoyed this journey with a few ups and downs. No regrets, I feel healthy and exercise now. I can move better and do more things with family!
  10. Well if it makes you feel better I tried a half of an in and out cheeseburger last night...after a fill last Tuesday, a burger was not a good idea. It was over cooked so after the fourth small bite I knew it was not the best choice for my stomach....head hunger yep I was there. Two hours later I opted for a Protein shake that was perfect!
  11. I'm 18 months out. I also get Charlie horses in my left shoulder blade. Not so much anymore but the first six months all the time. It's funny how are bodies react.
  12. I guess I never shopped at Victorias Secret because I never thought that they would carry bigger sizes. Now I have something to look forward to...shopping and getting a fitting!
  13. It's funny how after being banded or additional fills it really does change the way we prepare our food, avoid certain types of food that may not go through as smooth as we would like it to. I really didn't realize this either until I was banded. Also, one day a food might work and for some reason not the next day. It really depends on my body, temperature, if I have been laying down for a while, if I drank a lot if liquid, or not enough. Crazy but no regrets!
  14. Yes slow to lose but at least it will stay off:) I chose to go slower and was banded December 21, 2010. The first couple if months I lost maybe 18 pounds. Then slower maybe a pound a week on average but really slow. By the time I hit my fill in March, 2012 at 5cc I really sprang into weight loss action. I had dropped 17 pounds through May...then not much. So I started working out, didn't lose pounds but inches and size. So I knew I was doing something right. Now in August I am at 5.75 fill not getting but 5-6 small bites down... Usually happens the first week after my fills, I just don't eat. So I have to supplement with Protein anything. Key points: don't give up, keep your protein to at least 60 grams, try to stay under your calories (mine 1,200), small bites, lots of chews, good healthy choices, and most of all enjoy the journey yes it may be slow. I was at 268 and I'm down to 179. Size 24 down to almost a size 12. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
  15. Yes I have had this feeling! I think the stomach muscles are tightened from the adjustment (guessing) and getting used to the change. That's why we do full liquids for some time for stomach to get situated. I think also that's why I have some restriction issues for the first two weeks after fill. Our bodies have to get used to the fill. I think also our eating habits like chewing and smaller bites. I've had to really practice that. But, I have had twitches after a fill.
  16. I had a 1/4cc fill last Tuesday, an on vacation in Vegas, and some things I was eating last week just aren't going down. I call this my toddler band behavior!!!! So, tried to eat half of an in and out bunless burger...didn't happen! Slimed up and had to opt for a MetRx Protein gelato shake at a mall. Disappointed? Sure. Trial and error. I know my body enough now that at least two weeks after a fill, I have difficulty. But I can get liquids down. Don't use a straw you probably know this. Yesterday I had chopped up deli turkey and muenster cheese for lunch and it went down just fine. Have you had a recent fill?
  17. To add, I am one patient who chose to go slow in agreement with my doctor that this would be a gradual change of lifestyle. I am thankful I didn't go too fast. But the amazing thing is, people that see me and know me are shocked at my smaller appearance. An amazing feeling.
  18. CaseyP, You are going to be fine. Everyone I think might have felt like a weight loss failure. I even questioned myself on the decision to get the band. I am 18 months banded and at 5.75 fill and down to 179. I am excercising almost every day and watching my calories. Sure, there are still tough days, but I never regret having this surgery. I feel good when I get up in the morning. I have more energy during the day and evening. I sleep like a baby (happy one) at night. Just keep your head in the game, be positive, and stay with support!
  19. I've lost over 85 pounds and I've had to go through three bra sizes starting at 46DD down to now 38DD but now my cup size is changing to a possible D. Happy about it but wish I had a breast lift.
  20. My point is...take it slow after fills because it may change your eating and your habits as well. I am learning that I must take smaller bites and chew, chew, chew. Some textures do not work for me when it does for others. I think everyone is different. I can't have any type of bread or dry meat period. Good news is that I'm down 4 pounds!
  21. Yep! I knew I would have some issues as I vacation in Vegas. My band fill was moved from mid July to August 2...right before vacation. I had my surgeon do a 1/4cc fill. Boy am I glad because I usuly have issues the first two weeks of a fill in that I can't always eat foods I normally eat. Band is a toddler and so am I!!!! It seems that of course the first few days I'm in full liquids but it takes the second week to slowly introduce my regular foods back in. I tried a half if a buffalo burger at Fuddruckers... Ain't gonna happen. My night was ruined, was on Zofran and could barely get a 1/2 cup ice cream down. However, I was in sun all day in hot Vegas so maybe that changed things.
  22. Thank you for the skinny brand, I haven't seen that yet but I will hunt for it.
  23. SAMs Club here in Colorado. Might want to try costco but I haven't been to Cistco in years. Ther are inexpensive, our preschool groups love them and so do the teachers!
  24. My cup of coffee keeps things smooth!!!!
  25. Since my most recent fill, I'm also struggling with the amount of food to get the adequate intake of protein. I'm finding that I'm not drinking as much water....bad. So this week I will concentrate on adding two protein shakes one in morning and one in evening. I'm exercising a lot too. This Fitness Pal that all have talked about has been helpful. I just started this about three weeks ago. It seems two weeks after my fills I have to be very mindful on eating.
