  4. It was weird at first. I din't tell people about my surgery, so I had a lot of weird looks when they saw my portions size. People gave me the "you know you eat way more than that" look lol!! Family and close friends that knew, just questioned me a lot and some will just urged me to eat a little more lol! I also went through a phase where I got nauseous watching people eat.
  5. YOU ARE AMAZING!! great job!!!!!!!!!
  6. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME!!!! ( Picking up mic) I want to take moment and thank God.... LOL!!! No seriously THANK YOU GOD ALMIGHTY!!! I was so worried about complications, infections, leaks and most of all FAILING!! To be at this point right now in my journey, I can safely say I DID IT!!!! I have been the same weight for the past six weeks or so. Going up and down two pounds. But strangely enough I don't care. The scale doesn't bother me. I am content with the way I feel, the way I look and life and general. I WAS OFFERED A NEW POSITION AT WORK AND I AM LOOKING INTO GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!!! Life is great and amazing and I am living again.... next goal: A BABY PS. 1st Pic: on the left was taken Dec 2011. Picture on the right was taken 5/24/13 2nd Pic: Left was taken hours post surgery. Right was taken 5/25/13

  8. CONGRATS!!! six more months and I will be able to get pregnant!! I CAN NOT WAIT!!
  9. My hair really took a hit post surgery:( so I am using weaves for now so I don't have to process my hair with the perm or apply heat to it. But as soon my hair is strong enough, I will go back to my short style:)
  10. Now if only I could look fabulous with my clothes off lol!!!!! THIS IS TAKING A TOLL ON MY BODY!! I have some serious fixin' to do lol!
  11. thanks!! Many others on this site gave me the strength to push forward.
  12. you will!! It has not been easy!! I cried plenty and had to dig deep to walk away from temptation. Every time I did, I felt stronger and more motivated:)
  13. I am almost at my one year mark. I really can not believe how much I have accomplished!! I am so much stronger, wiser and in control. Not only with my eating but with my life as a whole. My confidence is through the roof, my whole outlook on life and the way I approach life is different. Who knew taking control over my eating, would not only improve my health, but my life?! I wish a year form now, this feeling stays the same. I wish all the good habits that I have picked up during this first year, will stay with me forever.
  14. Hang in there! It's will pay off at the end:)
  15. Holy smoke that was a lot!!
  16. you should be able to handle a little more at 8 weeks. At 8 weeks, I survived on Chili( homemade with extra meat and beans, no oil), Greek Yogurt, Crab salad, Black Bean soup( with spinach and chicken), Quacker Oats high fiber oatmeal, Spinach, Chicken, Isopure protein shake and water:)
  17. Kind of early! Didn't introduce scrambled eggs( per NUT guidelines) until the soft texture phase. About 21 days post op.
  18. I keep my carb intake at about 20gr
  19. Hang in there, it gets better! I felt "ok" by day five. I took my pain pill on time!!! Don't forget to stay hydrated. Sip as often as you can. And walk as much as you can.
  20. Welcome to the loser's bench! It is a wonderful place to be:)
  21. It will change. For the surgery to be successful, it has to change. For your new tool to work, your whole mindset has to change. I felt the same way you did at first, now ten months later I WISH I could go back to my small portions!! Now I am able to eat more, I tolerate pretty much everything I eat, and the weight loss has slowed down. My advice to you, take full advantage of the first six months post surgery. Embrace them. Teach yourself to be satisfied with a small amount of food, teach yourself to sop before feeling stuffed, teach yourself to eat well and make wise choices. By month eight, the restriction from your stomach will be less. So be sure you have created a good pattern by then. At first going out did feel like a waste of time. I didn't see a point in going to dinners and events that involved food. But you know what, I enjoyed food enough. I enjoyed eating too much. Life got easier once I stopped regretting the things that was keeping me at almost 350 lbs. Trust me when I say, once the weight starts coming off, the last thing you will be thinking about is food
