  1. perfect answer!! as you progress to bulkier protein, the restriction of the sleeve will be more noticeable. But the simple fact that you feel satisfied after eating some soup, is a sign that you are on the road to success:)
  2. *** You must release yourself in your mind to be slim**** that is so true!!!!
  3. it's gonna feel even better when they no longer fit
  4. Hang in there! I thought I was ready for life post op as well. Boy did I realized I was wrong lol! It was a learning experience and the people on this were a great help to me. At first I was only able to handle small sips of my Water, a bit or so of my Jello, and the smell of broth made me sick. My favorite Protein shake pre op, made me gag post op. It is a change. But you will learn new ways to eat, what works and what does not. You will adjust and build a new routine. Six months ago I didn't think so, but now I can honestly say: it does get easier!!
  5. it does get easier! hang in there. As you healing things will get better and easier. Also, once you start eating solid foods, you will start feeling the "restriction" from the sleeve and feel "full" sooner. During the first week, my head hunger was unbearable! It took time for me to understand what I was feeling was not physical hunger. Every week will be easier than the last. Stay hydrated, eat slowly, chew well, get plenty of rest, and keep a positive outlook
  6. I feel that way every now and then. For me it's a love/hate kinda thing. I want food so bad, but can't have what I want or the amount that I want! So I go weeks just eating soups, soft food and shakes. But then I get over the phase
  7. I WILL PRACTICE #8 STARTING TODAY!!! WHAT A GREAT TOOL/WAY TO STAY IN CONTROL!!! I will also add a stop sign on my phone and underneath write my weight loss so far and why I can not give up my good healthy habits on one meal.
  8. Thank you for this!! this article gave me a new perspective on how to cope with the holidays.
  9. Same here The sleeve served it's purpose today for sure. Money well spent( or invested as my husband put it). But I love how I felt in charge

    AMEN!
  11. well said!!It is a hard situation to be in and my heart goes out to you. But the poster is right, you made the choice to have the surgery. You chose a new way of life. Only you have to stick with it. It will make for easy if he followed your path, but as we all know, this is a personal fight and journey. Until I was ready to make a change, my husband who is super fit, could not influence me. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, and stayed away from the gym. He kept he's eating habit and exercised on a regular basis. Then I reached me breaking point and had the surgery. He embraced me and supported me. he offers help only when ask. You might not be able to push your new habits on your love ones. But let them see you do well and lose the weight as planned. He will come and ask for advice. Stay focus and stay strong. Your actions will speak volume.
  12. my doc did start me on Ursodiol. I was told to start it one month post op, for the next six months.
  13. thank you and I will:)
  14. Thnk you! Don't worry about not losing. Stalls are common and a necessary way for the body to balance things. I have been through MANY of them lol! I know it is not easy to look at them in a positive way, but that's all we can do. I do exercise. I am getting ready for a party, so I have been going everyday. Funny enough I only lost 2 lbs but my clothes are falling off of me!! Keep a positive mind, stay hydrated, keep your protein high and everything else low, stay away from the scale( easier said than done) and be patient:)
  15. HAPPY WITH MY PROGRESS!!! I used to run away from the camera....not lately lol!! Love the camera better than the scale

now that has to be rough! I really hope you can cope with this. Stay hydrated and take your B12 for some needed energy.
  17. you look great! congrats on a job well done. I love the new look, the confidence, the nails are FIERCE! lol!! you look great!
  18. I know how you feel! the week following my surgery, I wad a major melt down; my sister was cooking some rice and the smell just drove me over the edge. I CRIED lol!!! but I will let you know, almost six months since my surgery I WILL DO IT AGAIN it was so worth it. You will enjoy all that stuff again in due time. Some won't even appeal to you anymore. Be patient, I know it's hard, the time will come.
