1st visit with my surgeon

Entries in this blog

Got home around 2pm, took a nap, started on protein shake. Tried some cream soup, just a couple sips.   TMI: I really need to poop. Lol. Got some Miralax, but nothing yet. Sure wish I could get a good fart. Lol. At the hospital I walked and walked and walked. So much so, that other nurses knew my name. But still sad to say, no passing gas. Even though its not considered lady like, I would have done it and be proud, I'd declare, yep, that was me.   I miss the hospital bed, it did all
Ok, 2 days before surgery clear liquid diet. Glad it's Sunday and Darrell is home, he'll keep me on track. Packing for the hospital and to stay at our sons house, he lives closer to the hospital. Gonna stay with them after surgery so they can take care of Dexter my dog and give him his insulin shots. A week with my grand daughter is always good. She probably won't understand why I can't pick her up though. She's the Apple of my Eye!
So happy classes are all done. But I came home and was really tired. There is a chocolate fudge cake on the counter and yep I did it. Started just a sliver off the cut part but it was sooo good had to have another. Feel kinda guilty but surgery is 7 days away just had to have it. I've been so good on the liver diet, I just caved. All I can say
Just finished all my pre op testing, wasn't bad except the pulmonary exam, felt like I ran 10 miles. Lol   Family at Christmas were trying to talk me out of getting the surgery done, I sure wish they were more supportive.
Just got back from a beautiful wedding. I thought they would have food I could eat, so no worries. Well I was wrong, there was all pasta, and I'm on the Adkins type pre diet. Well thankfully they had salad and for the kids they had chicken nuggets. So I peeled off the breading from the chicken and cut it up in my salad and made my own dinner.   Got some exercise from dancing.   Any other diet I would have said, oh well, and ate what was there. I think I'm finally learning to adjust f
I was kinda worried how today was gonna go, but thank God it all worked out. My SIL made her famous cream cheese ball and I just put some on a stalk of celery instead of cracker. Turkey and a tossed salad for dinner, and I planned on a sliver of pumpkin pie but our Aunt brought a pumpkin pie trifle and it was all sugar free. I only had a half a cup of it. Just enough to enjoy but not too much. I am so glad I survived, and when everyone else was stuffed and actually hurting, I was content.
All is well and being sent off to the insurance dept. for approval. Surgeon said they may have trouble getting in before end of the year. He can do it but may not have an operating room available, I told him to,just do it in the hall. Lol. He was impressed with my weight loss, that made me happy. I can even wear a smaller size underwear, yeehoo.   I tried some of that UnJury shake stuff and it made me gag, the chocolate wasn't so bad but every thing else I tried was awful. Going on a que
Well I joined Curves last week. I've gone before but lacked motivation. This time I have a new attitude and am motivated. The local Curves has a new owner and sure makes it more enjoyable. It just feels good to get moving and not sleep all the time.
I am really anxious to get the surgery done, I'm not good on patience and I won't pray for it. Lol.   I have noticed when I'm cleaning dishes, I catch myself before I lick the spoon. Or when my grand daughter leaves a fish stick on her plate to not pop it in my mouth. That must be the mindless eating they keep talking about.   This must have to be practiced, but thankfully I've been able to catch myself before its too late. No more licking the knife of peanut butter. Lol
It took a while finding a surgeon who would do my surgery, I guess I'm a high risk. (Who would have thought). Lol   I am getting the sleeve, then hopefully a pancreas bypass. I have had many abdominal surgeries but this one I'm kinda looking forward to.   I was so thankful to find a doctor with a sence of humor, I told him all the problems I had and he just kept saying arggg. Then he looked at my scar and I told him there was mesh underneath, arggg again. Lol   The shrink you liver di
