lizzyshade some protein shakes have lots of carbs or sugar try the light type. Crazycatlady there must be some foods you use to enjoy while dieting that you can enjoy now. I couldn't eat meat for first 2 mo. it just didn't settle well. The weight loss will improve if you can find a few things you enjoy and just eat them for now until you feel better. Good luck!
  2. Unsweetened applesauce was not on my diet list until second week too.
  3. My surgeon put me on a pill at 2mo. because I still have my gallbladder.ursodiol twice a day to keep from developing stones for 6mo. this is when the weight comes off the fastest and stones will form. Did he mention this to keep from forming more?
  4. I agree with sleeve guru hope you are getting your protein and taking vitamins. Sounds like you are doing good! Congrats.
  5. My Dr. had me do liquids, protein drinks and soup anything that was not solid for 24 hours before surgery. Guess they are all different on this too. Congrats on the surgery hope everything goes well!
  6. I too was not allowed ground meat until the 5th week my nut. did not recommend scrambled egg until 3mo. she said many of her patients have trouble with them I could have hard boiled eggs mashed. I ate alot of beans, lentil and split pea soup. I lived on fat free refried beans with a little cheese n sour cream for a while also peanut butter and banana. When I started soft foods she said it was best to add one new food daily if it didn't settle on my stomach wait and try that food in another week seems like they all have different ideas wonder why they can't have a universal diet!! Good luck.
  7. Have you checked with the insurance Co. or the surgeon to see if there are other procedures they want done before surgery. I had to see a weight loss dr. to document a 6 mo. course. Also had to have an endoscopy, cardiac clearance which was a stress test followed by cardiac cath and some crazy swallow test which was rather like being waterboarded! If you are required to do any of these things might be able to do some during this time. Good luck!
  8. I am type 2 diabetic I was taking maximum of diabetic tabs. plus insulin in evening. I was in the hospital 2 days and the day I left I was given 10u insulin and that was the last day! I am 4plus mo. and my morning sugars are around 116 I still take a BP med. but it is now a low dose. The weight loss is a bonus! Good luck to you!
  9. Do you have any other problems headache, dizzy, dry mouth? when I was dehydrated I had this prob. and lots of nausea. Stay hydrated. I was told by Drs. group if I got sick and vomited to go back to clear liq. for a day. Are you still on previcid? could be stomach acids. Hope this helps good luck.
  10. Do youself a favor and put the scale out of sight bring it out at the end of a week or it will drive you crazy! Your body is in shock and will fight to keep from losing its storage. You know you are loosing you are eating only tablespoons of food relax and let it happen. I am 4+ mo. I will feel you pain when you have gone 3 weeks as I did recently without loss! I finally started down again we just have to be patient and follow the rules. Good luck!

When my nut. first said no lettuce I couldn't believe it but apparently it had very little nutritional value I miss salad but protein certainly does fill up the sleeve and stays fuller longer. The sleeve is definately a learn as you go experience. I too am having prob. with snacks its so easy to let bad habits sneak it. Good luck to you!
  12. Wow! Hope you feel better soon at least get answers I agree with getting a second opinion. You mentioned you are now lactose intolerent have you tried protein drinks since then most are made with dairy maybe you should try a soy protein I wish I had a good answer I hope things inprove for you soon! HUGS and prayers!
  13. My nut. had me at 1/3C. for several months. I found grilled chicken cut up small with brown gravy and a veggie or a little baked red potato worked 4 me I don't like the mushy chicken with broth. But my nut. said if something doesn't settle on the stomach wait a week and try again.
  14. Im so sorry you are having such a bad experience since your surgery. I have not experienced the diarrhea thing since early on but the Dr. wanted me to stop the omeprazole for stomach acid after first mo. I had so much discomfort I have continued a lower dose 20mg. which i get at costco in part because of my other meds. I take they seem to irritating my stomach. Are you still on stomach pills it might help. I am 4 mo. and I eat out quite frequently I think time will heal all wounds. I hope you feel better soon.
  15. Just because you can doesn't mean you should! Carbs are a catalyst for me so I don't keep bread, rice and pasta around or i WILL eat it and we know it has little or no nutritional value. I still count my chews if I find I am eating too fast it slows me down. Newbie has good advice. Remember the sleeve will work for you if you work for your goal to be healtier. Good luck!
  16. Dumping is from foods rich in carbs what is considered in the high glycemic index like dried dates, white rice, bread, potatoes, pasta, cold cereal like cherrios, corn flakes and rice krispies, candy, ice cream, etc (I got this from a paper my nut. gave me). Anything with high carbs. Hope this helps!
  17. Are you getting all your fluids 64oz. in each day more when its hot. When I was dehydrated I got nauseated and light headed when standing. Are you still on stomach acid pills? could be from to much stomach acid. Hope you feel better soon!
  18. I think it depends on how dense the food is meat seems to fill me up fast but say somethin the consistancy of refried beans doesn't seem to stay in the pouch as long. My nut. told me to eat no more than 1/3C. each meal so I just measured everything that way most meals I still do i am 4months out. I am not sure I can hold more later in the day but I always want to eat more in the evening prob. from old habits!
  19. I was a diabetic when I had surgery and I was told to have 50carbs by using 1/2 strength apple juice and water. Everything else I use is sugar free. My dr. gave me previcid for stomach acid and I had to use gasx tabs with each meal and bedtime for gas for a while it helps keep the gurgling stomach down to a roar. Also to use lactaid milk or soy when I went to full liq.most people cant't tolerate dairy after surgery. My only regret is I did not have surgery when I was younger!

I feel your pain I am 4mo. and have stayed about the same for the last month! I have lost 45lbs but wish this stall would end. I think I will try cutting carbs and up the protien as my hair has been thinning should probably increase my exercize routine.. I have read alot of blogs seems like this happens to many but eventually passes we just have to have faith and do what we can. Good luck! If you find something that breaks the stall be sure and post.
  21. May want to ask Dr. about going back on previcid or some kind of stomach acid reducer if you are not on one. Could just be harsh for your stomach. Regarding the bad feeling have you had lab work done recently like Vit.B's n D etc.. Sometimes small things can make a big change in how you feel. Good Luck!
  22. I had to do the 6mo. thing they sent me to a Dr. controlled weight loss center I think they only expect to see like a 8% loss of your weight not much I really didn't have to put much effort into it I think they just want to see us make an effort. I did not want to loose too much I was on the low side BMI but had diabetes. I had to do the psyc. but it was only one meeting rather like doing a verbal essay of myself no big deal. The cardiologist was more trouble had to do a stress and cardiac cath. It took about a year to get to my surgery but was well worth it I wish I had done it when I was younger. Good luck may seem like too much trouble but I promise it will be worth the effort.
  23. I am 4 mo. out I eat it 4 -5 times a week with splenda, ground nuts & cinnamon. I have been eating it since 2nd month first mushy now with just a little milk!
  24. My son likes adding sugar free chocolate mix into the plain stuff not my favorite but he seems to enjoy it I add splenda and plain vanilla.
  25. I agree probably water needed but I was a diabetic before surgery and was prone to yeast infections so after they pumped in all the antibiotics after surgery I got thrush a yeast infection on my tongue and throat if your tongue is white might be the problem. Hope you feel better soon.
