  1. Calm down. Drink your fluids and focus on the prize. Could be allergies because everyday I have a stuffy nose.
  2. I am most fearful of (failing) as in not losing weight. And my hub or my doctor or my 2 friends who I have told will think of me as a failure and why did I waste their time with this?
  3. excellent JOB
  4. Ladies, please advise how this time of month affects the lap band (if any)?
  5. as some of you know, I have 5 more months on my doctor supervision before I can have surgery..which does depress me and upsets me and really makes me feel...I am being punished somehow bc of how I look...but I know and realize (via reality) setting in about it. But for anyone reading this who has also had to wait, please give me (and whomever else has to wait also) ideas, any thoughts on how I can hang in there bc sometimes, it seems like forever...and a day
  6. Hi Tressa, I am a newbie on here also. In my pre-op's stage plus I have to wait 5 more months (per the clinic saying I need doctor's supervision which has me very upset/depressed...but I must do what I have to in order to make myself well Just like you (us)
  7. enjoyed reading your post. Where at in SC? I think what you said about making life canhges was dead on. thanks for sharing.
  8. I am in a pre-op stage myself so welcome. I want to have a lap band to help me get healthy again and be able to (walk). It is not an easy fix (in my opinion) but a stepping stone and something to help me (you) with this task. Read all you can (here and elsewhere) ask questions and keep on asking. But do this for the right reasons.
  9. Hi Trina You came to the right place for support. I do agree and relate to everything you wrote.
  10. I am also in your shoes. My surgery (will be july) as I have a 6 month waiting period (which I dont understand) but anyhow..Stay positive and you can do this. Loved your first post.
  11. Its wonderful. You start any time and you did today. OUTSTANDING
  12. Hi Jim. I have gained and lost weight at least 5 different times only to gain it back. I am so right there with you and understanding that and feeling that type of (pain). The pain that I feel bc I let myself down and feel like a failure. I still do. I see it (in my mind in my hubs) face when I see myself in mirror. See what a diet mental issue I have?? I will never forget what I have had to deal with bc of my weight. Not only personal but outwardly. It affects every part of me. In everything that I do. My life story is I eat bc I am depressed or lazy or just because. There is no reason. I made the wrong choices many many times. I stopped moving (walking). NOW, bc of some issues that have come up (as me being at my all time high,,still to embarrassed to tell anyone on this forum ) and because I am ready to do something about it. I am tired. I am fed up. I want this. And I want this for you too. (or whomever reads my words). In my youth, I was made to feel second best and dammit I am tired of it. Now you and I are doing this for us.
  13. ***because 1 year from now, you can have your band and be on the road to losing. Keep your chin up!**** I need to continue to think of this and believe it and know it to be true... Just think, I hope a year from now, I can be writing my blog and say, that I can walk (any distance) without my knee's hurting or sitting down.. JOIN ME on my journey. I need YOU
  14. I can see how you would lose (steam). Seems to me that if knew that we wanted to make a change for the better, that as soon as all the requirements were met, just go ahead and do the surgery so that we can get well. I dont understand that. That is what is frustrating me the most. I feel like I am being punished by what I have allowed to happen to myself in the past. How are you holding up?
  15. I have to do my mental eval and my upper GI/chest xrays yet. I am meeting with my nutritionist tomorrow to get that step out of the way. So am excited. Am nervous. Am ready. Day by day. Step by step. Meal by meal. We can do this...
  16. I have 5 more months to go on mine. ARGH. Seems like forever. How did you keep motivated?
  17. WOW. Your replies were awesome. I read all with an eager mind *and will read any more that come along*.
  18. When I went to my seminar and also my first appt w/surgeon, I felt he was trying to direct me more towards the bypass (then the lap band which is what I want). He said I'd lose (more) than on the lap band. Anyone else have that? What are your thoughts either way?
  19. when you were doing your liquid (pre and post op) what types of things were you drinking? (hope you do not mind me asking)...
  20. congrats on your lots. what type of things are you eating/drinking?
  21. Your husband (besides yourself and your doctor) should know. That is your support system. As for those office people, I am going to keep this short and simple. I know your feelings were hurt, but let them say what they want. ITS about YOU. Regardless of what you did to lose the weight, it is working. That is what matters.
  22. You must do this for you. Sure I can see why she'd be jealous. Just continue to remind that person that you love them and just because you are losing weight and getting healthy, doesnt mean your feelings will change. Been there before w/this. You can do do this..
  23. after conferring w/Tricare numerous times, they told me to go ahead and get all my pre-ops out of they way and then have the clinic forward to them for approval. I am hoping to get this lap band in place as soon as I can. But I have started my journey now and that band will help me. I am here for you.
  24. I feel just like you do. Afraid I will mess up somehow. I just keep reading and reading these posts and trying to realize I am not alone in this journey. Hang in there.
