I am 35yr of age and years ago wanted a gastric bypass. I felt as though I was ready however I kept attending these cult like seminars where people came on stage discussing their success and went over a brief insurance notice and wanted to sign me up based on my insurance policy. I was lacking the personal attention i needed and decided to wait. My weight kept increasing and then i decided that lap band was best for me and less complicated. i didnt want any parts of me removed and reorganized. I went to my surgeon last year and was given a date in June. Two days later i was sad to find out that my hopes were high and yet my insurance would not cover the policy. Now this year it is covered and I am ready. With pain in my knees that can become unbearable I knew I needed a change. A lifestyle change. I returned to my same surgeon from 2011 and decided he would be the person to do the procedure. A person who has tremendous recognition and a provides me with a sense of security under his care is going to make me the best person i can become with this band. I have alot of hard work to do and a long road ahead to complete my lifestyle change. I am ready and will do what it takes to stay on the right path.
