Ask your doctor's office.

Atkins - Post Op?
In my opinion, the diet we have to follow once we get on regular food is essentially the Atkins diet. We definitely go into ketosis if we are following our diet correctly.

Is Popcorn Ok?
Mine says no. She particularly warned us not to eat theater popcorn. I don't really know why though. Perhaps because if I am eating popcorn, I am not eating protein or vegetables.

Can I Take A Pill Cut In Half?
It depends on the pill. Ask your pharmacist which can be broken in half.

What Do You Fell?
No. I have lost 57 pounds and feel terrific. If you are talking about my body actually feeling a hole where my stomach used to be, no. If you are talking about missing something I used to do, no.

Pills!?
Chocolate pudding. My doctor considers it a liquid and it masks a lot of the medicine taste, not all, but a lot. It made my horrible bitter medicine acceptable.

Feel Horrible
What a great plan for the surgery! Like you, I can't believe a lot of people in the hospital knew that you had that problem. I can understand them knowing that it happened, but not to whom it happened. Sounds like a violation of the HIPAA privacy rule.

Hair Loss
I think all the special potions for preventing hair loss and getting new hair to grow in are a waste of money. Companies are still looking for a "cure" for hair loss. Look at all the bald men around. If there were an answer, the airwaves would be bursting with ads about it.

Absolutely great! I'm going to do it!

What Is Your Snack After Weight Loss Surgery? Im Craving Something And Im 4 Weeks Post-Op.
Cheese. There are lots of different cheeses. I keep tasting new ones and either add them to my list of foods I love or vow to never again eat the ones I don't like. I don't use crackers or anything else to put them on, just cheese.

Supplements!
In my opinion, the Bariatric Advantage multi-vitamin tastes horrendous. I took one and gave the rest away. They also are, as you pointed out, expensive. The advantage to it is that you only need take one a day. Others my nutritionist suggested are Flintstones multi-vitamin, which I am taking now, and Centrum, which I will try next. Both of those are fine and need to be taken twice a day. I am also required to take B-12, calcium and iron. Those are fairly easy to find.

Preventing Loose Skin
I can't believe anything but exercise and plastic surgery will help longer term. The rest seem like medicine show potions designed to part us and our money.

Today's Good Thing
Today I fit into the robe provided at the hair salon. Previously, I didn't fit and every employee who came near me asked if I didn't want to change into the robe. How difficult that was, but now I did it!

Getting Out Of Bed
That's exactly what I figured out and it worked. There was only slight discomfort. I didn't need pain medicine at all once I left the hospital. Good luck to you. Being on the other side and working for a better life is wonderful.

Mental Break
I agree with everything the others have said and only want to add one small point: 14 pounds in 17 days is amazing. Please don't diminish your successes. You need all the success you can get right now.

Wow I Wasn't Expecting This.
I was given one week notice and went into panic that it was so close, because I had been thinking it would be about four months. Looking back, I am glad I didn't have much time.

Lipton Pureleaf Unsweentes Tea
My doctor said no. Coffee has less caffeine. He said that one cup of coffee a day is all right, but that he has seen people who drink more develop ulcers. Others on here have not been told to limit their caffeine, so each doctor has his/her own policies.

Horrible Feeling Of Food Going Down...
Definitely. Make sure you are eating miniscule quantities and eating very slowly.

Feel Horrible
It must be terribly discouraging and frightening to go through such a trauma. Did the cardiologist say this is a one-time type of problem? Why are you having the surgery in the first place? Health and quality of life problems? The certainty of future problems? Definitely insist on talking to the surgeon and anesthesiologist and getting solid answers from them. As you go through this, my thoughts are with you. I imagine I would be in a state of panic. Good luck and please let us know how you are doing both before and after the surgery.

Fresh Tossed Garden Salad
With all of the protein and fluids I need to get in, I don't have room for anything more than one bite of a salad and I am three months out.
