Best Scales?
I tried to find this on the forum before I posted this but couldn't find anything. If this has been talked about before (and I'm sure it has), please point me in that direction. What scales do you use and what are the best ones to get?

Need Some Advice - Don't Know What To Do Or Say..
Three words...support your wife. She wants to be healthier and thinner. Why?? Probably for you. WLS is only a tool. It's a kick start to get us going to where we need to be. I did Atkins, Nutrisystem, phentermine, you name it. I lost weight too, but I gained it all back. Why? Because none of that taught me the correct way to eat. With this surgery, you are restricted to what you can eat. What you put in your body will now matter because you can't over eat (in the initial stages). It will truly teach your wife how and what to eat and get her moving down the right path. It's just a tool. But when she sees the weight coming off, it will drive her to eat correctly and make good decisions about what she puts in her body. Be supportive. She desires it from you. Again, she probably wants to do it for you. I did it for my wife and my three children because I want to be around for more than 10 more years. I am only 42 and I was on my way to widowing my wife in less than 10 years.

My Journey Just Began
Congrats!! Welcome to the group!! Right now, water is more important. You don't want to get dehydrated. You will want to get your protein in as it will help heal your body, but many of us during the first week had a difficult time getting it down. Do what you can, but make sure you stay hydrated. Congrats, again!!

"....you Look Fine"
Well, I don't think anyone is trying to hurt any feelings, but only trying to lift you up. Take it for what it's worth and enjoy the fact that "You look great!" "Thank you, that's sweet."

Giving Blood?
What are the guidelines on giving blood? How soon, if ever? I am about a month out and I eat between 500 - 600 calories a day. I sometimes get light headed when getting up out of a chair. I can't even imagine giving blood right now. I would think I would pass out, although I never have. But I have always given when we have our blood drive at work, which is coming up next month. Any suggestions??

A Litte Discouraged...
Yep! I stalled in week 2 also! I didn't lose one pound, and I followed my orders for water and protein! BUT...I know that I was losing inches. My jeans and shirts where all feeling loser. During that week is when I got my first compliment too "you are losing weight, aren't you?! You look great!" It's weird how we can lose inches but not weight. Hang in there! The scale will show it soon, just keep doing what you know you need to do!

Post Op B12?
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant to say, I wonder if your Dr would think the sublingual B12 pills would be okay instead of the injections. I would hate to have to get myself shots. :eek3: I would ask your Dr when he wants you to start. Mine said week 4 but all Dr's seem to say different things. Hope everything is going well for you!
