I Think I Finally Settled On My Maintence Weight...was That Hard For Anyone Else?
Wow! Congrats on reaching your goal! What an inspiration! A lot of hard work! I can't wait until I am there. I would certainly relax and enjoy all of your hard work, but being careful not to slip back into the old eating habits. You have done great and it is time to reward yourself!!

Is It Just Me?
Yeah, I agree with Annette. What I do is take a water bottle with me pretty much everywhere I go and I take small drinks often, even when I am not thirsty. Our goal is not to get thirsty. It will get easier though. Good luck!

Is A Two Week Stall Normal?
Almost every one of us hit the two week stall. Weird how our body works. Rest assured though, if you are following your Dr's orders (protein and water), you will continue to lose inches even though you aren't seeing it ont he scale. You will will start losing lbs in no time at all. Good luck!!

Monday Funday Question Of The Day!
I think for me it's just the desire and ability to do things again. I am currently working on building a pavilion in our backyard. This is something I physically would not have been able to do 6 months ago. A couple of weeks ago, I worked on my car. Again, something that my weight would not allow me to do just a few short months ago. I promised my kids that I will take them to Six Flags this summer after I hit 240 (just 4 lbs away!!!) and I will be able to ride the rides!!! My life has changed for the better tremendously! TGFTS!!!

Need Strategies To Deal With 'one Too Many Bites' Syndrome
I think it is a trial and error situation. You will have to learn what is too much by experience. That was a lot of our problem to begin with...we didn't know when to stop. We didn't have that resistance before and now we do. This is a tool to help us learn what is enough. We don't like the feeling in our chest when we eat too much so we don't want to do it again. That is how we learn. Good luck! Looks like you are doing great!!

Truth Moment: Does It Piss Anyone Else Off To Hear People Say The Surgery Is The Easy Way Out? Or You Could Just Stop Eating.
That's pretty much the reason why I haven't told anyone. Besides, it's none of their business.

Anyone Else Feel This Way?
Yeah...I think we all have felt like that. A little depressed that we can't eat what everyone else is eating. This is a strong feeling immediatly after surgery up until you can start eating solids again. I know it's a real feeling and I don't want to diminish that, but really the hunger you are feeling is head hunger. Part of us deciding to do this surgery is to help us change our lifestyles. Most of us (not all) were addicted to food. I never thought I was, but I know I was now. We get depressed because food where we went for our comfort. Now we don't have that. We have to find something to replace it. Some people choose to exercise. Some choose athletics. Some choose riding motercycles or sewing or quilting or cleaning or...you get the idea. Replace that void with something you enjoy. It is depressing now, but I promise it will pass. Stay open someone you can talk to. This place is a great place for encouragement too. Prayin' for ya. Hope you are okay from all of the tornadoes. I work right by the airport and the Arlington tornado was heading right for us before it died down. My car didn't do so good. Two weeks old and has golfball sized divots all over from the hail. Oh well. We are safe!

Surgery Date Before Insurance Approval?
I guess each office has their own guidelines. Prior to insurance approval, my surgeon asked me when I wanted my surgery, but I never actually scheduled anything until the approval came through. I have BCBS of Texas and I was approved very quickly. Good luck to you!! ")

Beginning To Feel Real Now
I did a sleep study and they found out I had sleep apnia. I think that helped me get approved for surgery. I bought a C-PAP machine. I used it, right up until about a week after surgery. Guess what...I no longer have sleep apnia!! Wooohhooo!!!! It's awesome! It's awesome that you and your wife will go through all of this together. What a great support system for each other! Congrats on everything and keep us updated!!
